The cult of Mars (Patreon)

When Humanity turned its gaze to distant stars, the red planet was first to be conquered. 

As the settlers of what would become the Great Expansion were primarily scientists and engineers, the red planet soon became the industrial heart of the newly formed galactic empire and provided humanity with all sorts of advanced technological wonders. Warp capable spaceships, planet killing weapons and even genetically modified soldiers. 

Nothing was beyond the Martians scientific abilities.

Then came the collapse of the galactic empire and the inhabitants of the red planet, like so many others, were left to fend for themselves…

Inspired by the myths of the old world, the leaders of this newly abandoned people created a planetary empire of their own, devoting themselves to the ancient deity of war and namesake of their homeworld: Mars.
