Nuka prowled the furthest border of the Outlands, feeling sorry for himself. The lion had been passed over, yet again, in the name of his younger brother. And why? For what? He had never suffered an embarrassing defeat or so terribly bungled a task given him to be cast out. He was the eldest, he was supposed to be the heir to the Pridelands, that was how it worked. And yet, his mother kept ignoring him as if he was… well, he didn't want to think about that. But there was more than one way to win a kingdom, and Nuka was going to go out and prove his worth, chart his own course.

If only he had any idea on how he was going to start such an enterprise. He couldn't just march on over to Pride Rock and kill the usurper, Simba— not yet, anyways. He needed to be smart, and he was going to need something to give him an edge. The lion's luck seemed to be just as mercilessly bad as it always had been, until he came across a strange baboon with a deal to strike with him— an amulet that would make him greater than any king. He leapt at the chance and offered all that he had— and then some. When Nuka tried the amulet on, he at first thought he had been taken in, again, but then the strange trinket glowed.

The lion was suddenly struck by a wave of power and energy that billowed into his body, tightening and swelling his lanky muscles, and suddenly granting him the body of a warrior. Nuka stared at muscular limbs and a deep, wide chest, prodding it to see if it was real. When he felt this strange new brawn packed onto his frame, he gasped— it was very solid, and very real. And he felt this was just the beginning…
