Swell Tales progress (Patreon)

Some good news and some great news! Great news first:

The new hardware is in! I spent tonight setting up the environment and deploying the site to its new forever home. An unfortunate side effect of this is the data we had has been wiped clean, but we knew that would happen eventually. You can expect that the data you enter on the new Swell Tales is there to stay, so go nuts, start uploading, and make your accounts your own! It will all be there for the public when we officially launch.

I'll also be moving the sever to an ethernet connection tomorrow. It took all night getting all the nerd stuff running on it and I ran out of time. So it will still be a little slow until then. But when I move it, expect some fire from how fast it will be moving.

Now for the normal good stuff. I deployed a new version at the same time. This was a lot of boring housekeeping stuff! Nothing too exciting here, I'm afraid, but it is necessary. I've detailed the changes below.

Cookie consent: Added the banner we all know and love that asks for your permission to create cookies. 

Age verification: Added a 1-time screen that asks the user to confirm they are 18 years of age and warns them about pornographic content. The wording on this page will be changed later on.

Author Page: Added an author's follower count and average story rating to their biography page

Privacy: Added a privacy page outlining our terms, what we do with data, and what kinds of content are not allowed.

Support us: Added a 'Support Us!' area detailing how users can help Swell Tales stay ad-free

Fixed some UI bugs
