🌟🌟$100 Patreon Bonus Goal!🌟🌟

When the total Patreon pledges are above $100/mo, the Fanart Day bonus unlocks! I've already done this once this year in March, and it repeats again in September, but I felt like doing it this month in August because it has an extra Monday :)

I've been seeing these kinds of memes floating around twitter over the last few months, where people post comments that name attributes and the artist makes a character out of the responses! I made this template up for an 'android'. Although even though the term android implies a humanoid shape/body plan, I just mean robot character :)

How to play:

I will post comments below aligning with each of the attributes listed in the photo. Post comments underneath those to add your suggestions! You can post in multiple categories, and multiple people can make suggestions :) Vote for suggestions you like using "heart"!

I might mix up the suggestions to balance the number of people involved, or if I particularly like a suggestion. If an attribute doesn't get any suggestions after a few days, I'll post a few options people can vote for :)

Suggestions don't have to be realistic, they can be fantastic :D Ok, let's go!!!

Litter collector a la Wall-E but has an elastic exoskeleton, so it swells with its contents. Possible names: LitterTick, TrashTick.

Anonymous

LitterTick: very shy; if disturbed, rolls up like a pill bug a.k.a. roly-poly.

Anonymous

Kelp-E: keeps to itself but will watch you if you enter its territory.

Anonymous

LitterTick: utilitarian, but soft curves rather than hard angles.

Anonymous

Kelp-E: Elastic skin, but suggesting technological biomimicry rather than a truly convincing biological heritage.

Anonymous

LitterTick: Cute bug faced; multiple eyes and antennae for hyperspectral identification of litter.

Anonymous

LitterTick: its primary manipulating appendages are actually its back legs, like a scarab beetle. Simple, utilitarian actuators to grab litter and “consume” it, but also strong, to help its primary form of locomotion out of trouble. Its front legs are largely vestigial, meant only for anthropomorphic familiarity and the occasional need to manipulate things meant for humans, such as pedestrian crosswalk buttons. Instead of four legs in the middle, it has two tank tracks.

Anonymous

Kelp-E: multiple appendages, perhaps two or four specialized for digging in the sea bed and defense; the rest for manipulation of objects.

Anonymous

LitterTick: mostly green due to photosynthesis; otherwise colorful, to project cuteness.

Anonymous

Kelp-E: sea colors for camouflage (TIL I did not know how to spell “camouflage”).

Anonymous

LitterTick: tortoise-sized or larger, as it goes about its work collecting litter.

Anonymous

Kelp-E: two or more times the size of a true cuttlefish, as it has large sea grass fields to tend; also to avoid being eaten by most predators.

Anonymous

LitterTick: mostly its tank tracks with occasional assistance from its hind legs.

OK so clearly I cannot read instructions 🤪 and did not design humanoid androids, but this was fun! Thanks for posting. 😁

Artist: translating what people who cannot do themselves into the art of their dreams

Ali Grotkowski

fairly well until battery life is low at which point is skittish and fearful.

Ali Grotkowski

extensible like those Inspector gadget-like tools he would have to reach things.

Joanna

Horizontal padded sections, like a cross between a motorcycle jacket and an armadillo.

Joanna

Numerous tapered tentacles, maybe of varying size for different tasks. Could move in lots of different manners, like an octopus on the ocean floor.

That's ok, your comments were super fun to read!! :)) I was ok with non-humanoid androids 👍

NJGR

Cultivates one specific plant/flower that was devised solely by androids themselves

NJGR

Similar to a pollinator: butterfly, bee, bat.

NJGR

Changes with the colors of the sky as lit by the sun. Iridescent at sunrise and sunset.

NJGR

Gelatinous surface that allows them to glide along effortlessly and easily, even over small obstacles. Does not leave any residue behind, though it seems to leave surfaces cleaner than before they passed through.

arms resemble human arms covered with cardboard tubes (but they are still made of metal)

Anonymous

a glass chest panel shows the inner workings: a hamster wheel powered by a robotic hamster running incredibly fast (and the robotic hamster is in turn powered by a smaller robotic hamster inside it, and so on down to the atomic level)

Anonymous

bright blue with yellow polka dots and constructed from pure polonium

Anonymous

much like with the arms, it is shaped like a human covered in cardboard tubes and boxes. also it is 100 metres tall

ps. i will not be offended if you choose to ignore all my ridiculous suggestions :)
