Finally, time to start talking about MECHY stuff!!!! I think what was most surprising to me about this trip was how low-tech the process still is. Even up to the quantities of hundreds or thousands... these parts are handmade by craftsmen. Even if a machine is doing the cutting, so many parts of the process are still completely manual.

I remember doing the PVC mold and epoxy bit a long time ago. Used machined parts to make the master. (We were making epoxy encased toroidal ferrite core transformers. Had to coat the toroids with PVC to prevent the ferrite cores from cracking when the epoxy shrunk during the curing process.)

That's really cool, I do remember hearing that they had to scale up the masters a bit to account for shrinkage
