"You don't have to quit eating *plants*" in panel 2 of step 2 sounds like I am allowed to eat vegetables again after the steak. I wonder if the intended message is "You don't have to quit eating *meat*" though. re eggplant: it was fine until I told my son that it was eggplant :-)

The second panel is inspired by many real life interactions I've had! One meat-based dish caused them to "give up" on anything remotely vegetarian and double down on eating mostly meat!
