Update :D So many tech conferences! Aaa (Patreon)

Hey everyone! The past two months have been quite a ride and I just wanted to give you all an update! As you know, one of my goals for ending my regular webcomic was to push myself to a new level of tech achievement. The great news is that my most recent project has been going well, but it's had me driving down to Seattle for testing every other week :0 I must admit that has really socked my time and energy. 

On top of that I recently did two big tech conferences! The first was Lesbians Who Tech in San Francisco:

I had heard a lot about this conference and wanted to attend to get a different perspective on the tech industry. There were some awesome talks there!!

IMMEDIATELY after that I flew down to Austin to attend SXSW! I actually hosted a hardware meetup at this event, which was exciting for me from a tech career perspective :D

SXSW is REALLY hard to describe, it's a strange conference. There are really great technical talks from all sorts of people, and all of these art projects and big brands trying to get your attention. Viceland had baby goats! It was weird. Many brands had these interesting sets where you could take a good selfie, tho, which I appreciate ;)

Just before I left I had finished the thumbnails for my next big project - Midnight Ride, a travelogue about my trip to the Yukon last summer. 

I reviewed allll my notes from the trip, collected all the photos, and wrote the thumbnails that are in the header pic. Trimmed it down to 20 pages. Not exciting work but it was a lot of work! I struggled to make headway while I was travelling, but thankfully that's over and I can get back to it now :)

I'm thinking of switching gears to a shorter zine that I might get ready for some upcoming shows (TCAF and VanCAF). Haven't decided! We'll see. And hopefully I'll be posting It's Ok To Sploot publicly sometime this week.

Meanwhile, we recorded two more episodes of our podcast, the TradeWaiters. We read Linda Medley's Castle Waiting! It wasn't for me, but it was a fun discussion. (Part 1, Part 2)
