New birthday-tier patrons Neal and Jessica asked for a wedding anniversary sketch :D For this they asked me to draw my dream "small library " with Flitzybon. The dream library is something that I've given a GREAT deal of thought to, but never actually drawn :)

So for a dream library... for me, the key is having a perfect reading nook built in. I love small places high up, and this one has a biiiig window with a nice view.  Otherwise it takes inspiration from two very specific sources: the library scene in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (I'm sure lots of people dream of ladders for that reason), and Max's turret-style bedroom loft  in the film Hocus Pocus (very specific lol).

I hope I get to build this someday!!!!!!

2021-07-19 01:55:05 I'm in love with turrets. There was a house in my college town that had these amazing octagonal turrets, so I've long wanted both my library and my bedroom to be in a turret. For our 10th anniversary last year, we stayed in a B&B in Ontario with turrets in the living room and the bedroom we were in, and I didn't want to leave. Thanks again for the perfect library!
