I wasnt really vibing that much with this show the first couple episodes but im really starting to love it. I think overall this is a much stronger season than the sg1 first season so far. Makes sense because SG1 has already found its identity and is still really good so it just translates over. This episode was good. I liked that they kind of made a cure. It still works it just wasnt ready to be used yet. If they kept working on it i bet they would eventually be able to modify it to work as intended. The leader was just too prideful and rushed everything.

Actually, his name is ‘Rainbow Sun’ Francks, he was also in Season 1 Umbrella Academy. He was Detective Chuck Beaman. When Sheppard says that Beckett is Dr McCoy, he’s talking about the Doctor on Star Trek the original series. The said the drug would kill only half of the people that take it, meaning the other half would live and be immune from being fed on by the wraith. Evidently the people there are willing to sacrifice half of their race to protect the other half. The part they are not getting is before the Wraith would leave enough of their people alive so that they could repopulate for future feedings. But since that would no longer be possible, they would most likely just kill them all to prevent them from spreading the immunity. The wraith will just bombard them to death from their ships to kill off any race dangerous to them.

This was a good episode, it was interesting seeing the lengths people will go to when desperate, even likely leading to the death of their entire population, half from the drug and the other half when the wraith kill them. It was also interesting getting to see more of Dr. Beckett in the episode.

2023-07-16 18:46:22 I agree with the people saying the Wraith are still more likely to destroy the other 50% that survive rather than leave them alone. The Wraith aren't dumb. If they leave them alone, there is a chance the immunity could spread to other worlds (which was literally their plan). This is especially problematic now that it can poison the Wraith. Back in season 3 of SG-1, there was an episode where a bounty hunter had captured SG-1. We learnt that the bounty hunter and his people had a natural immunity that prevented him from being taken over by a Goa'uld symbiote. As a result, the Goa'uld destroyed his people. The wraith would probably do the same here. I know this may sound wrong to say but unless you can completely hide from the wraith or fight the wraith and win, it might be better to just allow the wraith culling to happen.

Kinda funny that this drug reminded you of the SG-1 episode where they introduced Tretonin ....Considering the female doctor opposite Doctor Beckett in this episode was IN that episode 2. Yup... His name is Rainbow Sun Francks ...His sister (Princess Kida) is named Cree Summer Francks ...He's got 2 more siblings however Cree is the only other one with such a special name though 3. You said you didn't understand that quote ...."Victory at all cost" was a quote from a speech by Winston Churchill who was prime minister of the United Kingdom during World War 2 ...I'm quite sure Winston Churchill did NOT. have using a drug in mind that could kill half his population just so they could win the war against Nazi Germany .....Hence why Beckett said he'd never thought he'd disagree with that quote ...Him being from Scotland which is part of the United Kingdom ....Basically he compared the Hoffans to the UK and The Wraith to Nazi Germany
