2023-02-03 08:05:03 I took a chance an watched this when it originally aired & it became my all time favorite sitcom. One thing I loved that they did was go against the norm for a sitcom & not use a laugh track as the creator of the show wanted people to laugh when they though something was funny, not when the show directed them they should laugh. I got spoiled & after that when I watch other sitcoms the laugh track tends to annoy me

Audience laughs are not always tracks. There are those that are actually filmed before a live audience. But yes, the ones that use tracks are pretty annoying.

Even audience tracks are layered and amplified and signs blinking telling them to laugh or applaud. I get so insulted being told when to laugh. When the writing is good enough you don't need it and even if used you don't notice because you're laughing over it. But if the writing is lazy no track is going to make it funny.
