Content

The cost of living has gone up here and probably everywhere else in the world and with some of the shows I’ve been reacting to coming to an end I’ve noticed a lot of drop off.

im not mad I mean I expect this kinda thing to happen. I’m only as good as my next reaction.

with arrowverse getting to later seasons and popular shows ending and people going elsewhere for them, it’s definitely becoming noticeable that something needs to be done.

anyway. I’m wondering if you guys had any ideas on what to do next? I hate to say this but I do this for a living and need to accept the fact that I need money to survive and therefore need to find ways to increase my revenue.

I need to come up with creative ways to keep people interested in my content. Whether that means I need to diversify my content or changing it up completely. all ideas are valid here.

it has been suggested to me that people at lower tiers might want higher voting power but then what would you guys get? What benefits do you guys think other tiers should get and what do you guys want yourselves ?

I need to find a way to increase my revenue as upsetting as it makes me to say, if the decline continues then at some point this can’t be my full time job anymore which would lead to less content overall in the long run.

please let me know what you think (or if you are uncomfortable commenting - you can always pm me)

I think the best plan is boost what you already have - yt and patreon - rather than develop risky/time consuming new revenue streams. It might be time to do more of a plug for patreon in your yt videos. Maybe a blurb at the end where you talk about it for a few seconds. I think capitalizing on new popular shows just as they're coming out will drive more traffic too. Time zones mess with release timing a bit - popularity an depend on how quickly your reaction comes out on yt. Season-themes also seem to be popluar - ie: Spooky October, Xmas content in December, etc. Those can be opportunities for your community to get involved (voting) and excited for content in the short term.

For a bit more advice, personal finance plays a big role when costs start increasing. They often don't teach this in school, so most people either learn from their parents or not at all. It's about making a budget, tackling debt, and saving for the future. Start with information - track every cent coming in and going out, and make adjustments. This lets you find wasteful spending - maybe you don't watch netflix anymore, maybe that gym membership isn't doing anything, etc. It also lets you track "bad" trends - ie: did I really spend that much on take-away this month?? I've helped some friends with this, but the methods do vary from country to country. Happy to chat about this topic if you ever want. Cheers!
