I like this episode a lot, especially Hammond's attitude. But, I agree with you. It was extremely naive for Jack and Sam to assume she was innocent (to a point). Just because they were doesnt mean everyone in that prison was. I mean the guy they came in with was charged with murder. Plus the former blind guy ran as soon as he saw her. I get they had to take her back to get her power, but they shouldn't have shown her everything they did until they knew, for CERTAIN, that she was trustworthy.

I get the impression that her technical knowledge was FAR more advanced than she let on. What she needed to learn was gate addresses. So she played ignorant until she could get access to the computer. She is evidently an experienced hacker. as well as a genius chemist. They did say the people that controlled the prison were far more advanced in tech than Earth was. Maybe she is one of them. But I do agree. The SGC was WAY too trusting. They got greedy for knowledge.
