This is one of my favoruite s1 episodes. As you said early on, we don't always have a clear picture of Teal'c feelings and motivations because he's so stoic, but here we get a proper glimpse of the kind of guilt he's carrying with him all the time. And how long he's been feeling that way. They have some good discussions about culpability and responsibility and choosing the lesser evil.
