This Flash season seems to be doing two things this season. They are only giving small snippets of the main villain because they know the audience has been unhappy with how dragged out the villains story has been in previous seasons. This is somewhat working as people aren't annoyed by him. They are also setting up the emotion of what will happen once Barry dies. The problem with that is NO ONE believes Barry is going to die. With Arrow ending The Flash is now the flagship show for the entire Arrowverse. They aren't going to lose the two biggest names. So what this does is it makes these episodes feel like we're just stalling to get to the main villain after Crisis. Supergirl and Black Lightning have their own issues this season but at least those stories are advancing.

It appears that this episode was having some fun with the spy movie genre (especially James Bond). The casino scene, the space weapon, Ralph's gadgets, threatening a city to sell the weapon, the accented villain with the powered henchman, the monologues and quotes directly from Bond movies ( especially Goldfinger and the laser). As a Bond movie fan it was very fun. BTW, I think the weird music during the final fight scene was also a nod to spy movies.

The song at the end was from Muse, who I like but I agree, it was oddly placed. But seems to be the trend with Arrowverse.

A very good Ralph episode. Loved all the James Bond stuff. I like Chester, he's very amusing to me. I would not call it filler tho. Nash stuff was all about Monitor and Crisis. And Allegra seems to be sticking around and not just a one off guest character. Ralph and Barry stuff was about Sue Dearbon case and tied into Ultraviolet and mystery dude in black suit, wich is an investigation that Iris and her newspaper is looking into. Cecile and Chester was a character development stuff, but Cecile is a main cast memeber, who appears least of all the regulars, so why not give her a screen time and something to do. And Chester seems to be also sticking around, with Cecile saying he should swing by Star Labs more. Probably could've given Ramsey more to do, but looking at how this episode ended, we will probably start with Ramsey next time, maybe we'll get more of him. Also, Ralph said that the golden dress is a Victoria Vale one-of-a-kind. Vicky Vale is a DC character, you probably know, she's a journalist and Bruce Wayne's love interest at times, she was in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman played by Kim Basinger and I think appeared in the Arkham video games......also in the pilot of Chuck, Chuck sing "Vicki Vale Vick Vicki Vale Vikity Vikity Vale", when Sarah first shows up at Buy More))) Also, Danielle Panabaker directed the ep.

Yeah. The song was totally not out of place in that scene if this WAS a Bond movie.

So this is the first episode where I've liked Ralph. And he wasn't even Ralph he was James Bond.
