Clark was weakened by his time away from the sun and the black suit better absorbed the solar rays bringing him back to peak strength more quickly.

Andrew Polinski

I forgot to mention in the last release that Zack Snyder has said that Lois is pregnant in his cut. I also have to say i really like the black suit superman. it looks so good.

Barry saves everyone, because when that Unity happened, and the explosion occurred, even Superman was vaporized. Earlier, in part 5, Barry when charging the motherbox, ran back about 1 second. Now, he runs back about 10 to 15 seconds. Think this will lead to Flashpoint in his upcoming solo movie? Barry has run back in time twice now, seen no real bad effects from it. This may motivate him to run back many years to save his mother, creating Flashpoint, and he'll realize how much he screwed things up by doing that. They couldn't do all that in the CW show because most of the cast was not introduced. Superman was on a different Earth on the TV show, and there was no Superman on his Earth. Also, no Cyborg, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, or Batman in the TV show. Only brief mentions of some when Barry and Cisco visited Earth-2.

Too bad they didn’t mention that in the movie. Without that explanation, just seems like he decided to wear black for no reason

The scene where he flies up and faces the sun to absorb solar radiation was Snyder’s quick way to explain what only people who’ve read The Death of Superman and seen other media understood. The black suit does not represent him being evil, though recent media has started to portray it that way. But I love the look.

Lore aside, I think the black suit looks a lot better and it fits the tone of the movie - darker, more violent, etc. Well this cut anyway, so I guess it makes sense that they went with the blue and red for the theater version.

Andrew Polinski

Unfortunately no this won't lead into flashpoint as it has been stated that WB doesn't recognize this version as cannon

Devil’s Arrow

Superman wears the black suit when he returns from the dead in the comics too. It doesn’t mean that he’s evil, he wears it to better absorb solar radiation. The movie didn’t explain that but it’s a definite nod.

Diana pronounces Kal-El the same way as Jor-El (Marlon Brando) pronounced it in Superman (1978) starring Christopher Reeve. And the same as Jor-El (Terence Stamp) on Smallville.

Jon

Henry Cavil is still interested in being superman. Ben Affleck will be in the flash movie as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
