This was a show I randomly caught an episode of at a buddy's house when it was first airing. I loved the concept, and ended up watching it from there. I particularly found the mother-daughter interactions to be very different for a TV show, but also very realistic. Glad you were able to spot some familiar actors, but you missed Rube! He was the "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die" guy :) I'm not sure if this will keep getting picked, but if you're ever looking for a short show to fill a gap in the schedule, this would be a great one - 2 seasons and there is a movie too.

yeah I watched it while it aired and enjoyed the concept. The actor for the mom was in the Supergirl episode shelter from the storm :)

Not to spoil or anything but yeah I remember reading somewhere that Mason was supposed to be her love interest but there was a change in writers or something after like the 4th episode and it was dropped. Same thing with the dad who has an affair with one of his students. Here it's heavily implied that it's a man, making him actually homosexual but the idea was scrapped.

I had a chuckle when the cute guy showed up and Shan expected romance. Not that kinda show, and I'm glad for it. I had forgotten about the dad hugging a man at the funeral because they really drop that plot point fast.

I remember watching this after reading a list of “Greatest Shows that was cancelled too soon” or something like that. I had heard a lot about Firefly of course, but this was in the same conversation according to the list maker. Anyway, I did come to really like this show and watched it all as fast as possible on DVD since there was no streaming and I loved this show and just like Firefly, wish there was more to see once I finished.

I had forgotten about this show. I watched it in real time when it originally aired. I liked it a lot. I didn't recall it when I saw this title in your Pilots, but the title did sound familiar. I'd ;ole tp say that it all came back to me once I started watching this, but it didn't. Took me a bit. Once I saw that toilet seat plummeting to earth my memory starting coming back. This was a good pilot for the show and I think it's worth watching.

I cant believe someone did reactions to this. I've checked youtube a few times, and never found 1. So imagine my surprise when I saw it in your list. This is 1 of my top 3 all time shows. I came here because of iZombie, but am staying for DLM. If you watched Smallville, (or frankly any of the other dozens of shows filmed here) you will probably notice a face or two over the duration of the series, as it was filmed in Vancouver around the same time. The show was a hit for Showtime, but was canceled because the new President at the time wanted a network full of his shows, and canceled most of the roster, including this.

Great reaction, This is a very good show. I really liked both seasons and the movie. Ellen Muth(Georgia) & Mandy Patinkin(Rube) are amazing together. I watched this when it aired and than once more in like 2010ish
