I get what you're saying on the hair dye, but at the same time it would be hard for her to reprimand her daughter or Alex for doing the teens highlights when she just tried to kill everyone on Earth.

In Norway police officer don’t have guns. So it is a real thing happening. But yeah I do not no my own view on the matter.

Zach Hershman

There was no chance Sam was going to be mad. Alex protected Ruby from Sam killing her. She was only ever going to care about that.

I HATED this episode when it first aired. I'm someone who owns a handgun but also believes we need stricter gun control laws in this country. I am fine when topics like this are tackled by tv shows when they are done in a subtle manner. That's not what this was though. This was taking the topic and smacking the viewer in the face with a "guns are evil" agenda. That portion of the episode wasn't created to build on a story. It was created to push a political agenda. Supergirl has an issue with doing that but sometimes they do it better.

Kevin Tran

Bro take out the last part of your comment. Expectation spoilers

Zach Hershman

Eh I don't see that as an expectation spoiler but I will gladly remove it.

Brandon Wiesner

Yeah, it was a very heavy handed episode. The thing is though, the climate in our country at the time when it came to gun laws was very chaotic. They were pandering to the general consensus at the time, which was basically guns are bad and we need to get rid of them. I don't own a gun but I have been to a shooting range. I'm not opposed to guns as long as the gun owners are responsible. I don't agree with the POV that the show took but I understand that they were probably under pressure from network execs to push the agenda, since they are a prime time show and a lot of families watch.

This is easily my least favorite episode of the series.

Still handled it better than that one episode in Arrow where they brought up the issue and just... never dealt with it. Oliver made a press conference, said something along the lines of "guns are bad, but also guns good, k bye, thanks for you time". At least Jonn actually made a choice, one which might have consequences in the future

Seems I am not the only one who isn't the biggest fan of this episode. Personally when I watched this season for the first time I didn't like it that much at all. But seeing it again with Shan's reaction, I had to adjust my opinion. Still this episode was for me always a bit too politicaly oriented.

Wyatt

Didn't they pass a law at the end of that episode? or a charter or something?

Wyatt

Shan: Why did they make a civilian (AR-15)? Me: Because This is America

Jon Dub

lol James said the only weapon you need is a shield and J'onn said his father taught him that a long time ago. But J'onn, wasn't your species wiped out by a more aggressive species precisely because the White martians had weapons and the greens weren't cut out for combat? Seems like a pretty shitty lesson!
