Starting with the original Winx Club was a great idea. It brought back so much memories. And you should not ever feel ashamed for having watched Winx Club, PPG's or any other show. You liked it and that's all that will ever matter. Also I loved the Mug. And I do hope the Power Puff Girls live action will do a better job. As for this episode it was probably the best of the entire season. I didn't like how at the end they just killed the Headmistress. However, the transformation scene was good. The entire part where Bloom went home (with her friends) and explained it all was great. And I suppose the story elements were decent. And I fully agree with you Shan that Fate The WInx Sage completely fails as a Winx Club adaptation. There is virtually zero similarity. And that as a stand alone title, under a different name it would most likely work. It has all the ingredients for it. Personally I hope they won't make a sequal / 2nd season. Or that if they do, it's under a different name.

I don’t how you could possibly have done this in one day straight through. That you lived through it is amazing, even with the help of hot chocolate. I’m praying for your speedy recovery! I’m also praying there’s no season two. Definitely not made for nine year olds. The best part of this whole six episode “saga” was your intro to this episode. Thank you for that. Time to move on.

I think as a viewer of the original show (I won't say fan as I only watched the first couple seasons), I really liked this adaptation. I feel like it needed a couple more episodes to help adapt it further, but my family and I binged this all in one go and were really compelled. I remember enough from the show to appreciate the nods to it (see the transformation) but I hope that you get to separate the disappointment and this show so that you can enjoy or appreciate what they did do well in this adaptation. Easier said than done I know - It isn't winx club but it's engaged me more than any show has for a while.

Ive never seen the original but i liked this show. You have to also think about budget and other seasons and things when going from cartoon to live action. They can add some of your favorite people or stories or backstories anytime and it still be good. Having wings all the time would cost as much as the whole season in special effects. You cant expect for an adaptation to be exactly the same. Its not a remake its a different version. All adaptations have differences. Some major and some not. I think you went into it with the wrong expectations. You were hoping for a live action remake. Thats not really practical.

I liked the original Winx and I watched it growing up and this show was recommended to me by a friend who told me to go into it as it’s own thing not an adaptation because if I watched it like an adaptation I would have been disappointed but if I watch it like it’s own show it would be pretty great granted everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I personally thought that if you judge it as it’s own show it was pretty great and I get that they promoted it as an adaptation but in my opinion a bad adaptation doesn’t necessarily equal a bad show

As much as I love this show, some of the swearing seems off putting—and not just because I grew up with the animated version. My English teacher taught us that swearing is used for emphasis (if you always swear, no one’s going to pay attention if you break your leg), and having Rosalind swear after all the power moves she’d just made seemed anticlimactic. I would have expected more poetic dialogue after such a villainous feat. I get that she was more a soldier, but it didn’t have to be anything flowery. An inspirational speech about what great plans she had would have been fine enough.
