I really liked this movie and was happy when they made it into a show. I think they did a pretty good job of transitioning from a movie to a regular tv show.

Love the show too, but interestingly enough the creators of the movie had completely different plans for movie sequels. At one point there was plans to do the movies sequels even though the series was around (set in a different continuity) but it never came to be.

I didn't watch this for the first time until having almost finished Atlantis. ... When I heard that jokingly reference at the beginning of the movie about "men from Atlantis," I was like ... wow. It may have been unintentional, but talk about a breadcrumb!

The actor who played Ra, Jaye Davidson, was in one role prior to this. He was nominated for an Academy Award for that role and then he was offered Stargate. He didn't want to do it because he didn't like the fame he was getting so he demanded $1 million, thinking they would never agree. But they did! I'm not sure whether that's good or bad luck.

Gotta have that Angel not fade away ending in movies too haha no closer here. Nice call back to Buffy mentioning she dug James Spader in a nice game of anywhere but here. Key note that reflects on your confusing if Ra human host was woman or man. I know you'll never watch this old movie but it's called The Crying Game I've only seen once but the actor who played Ra plays a man passing as a woman and gets a man to fall in love but the man thinks the love interest is a woman until the twist at the end he is going down on her which revels man parts and gets grossed out, but Ra character has a feminine body so the actor plays it well. It's the only two movies I known for that actor and when I saw him in Stargate I was surprised but recognized him, I feel he played a good Ra in his mannerisms I really enjoyed his facial expressions as a false God. But yeah. I kinda wanted more to the ending to but my fave moment is the way James Spader says they are going home. In my opinion James Spader best movies roles are Dream Lover such a great great thriller suspense and I really liked the ending. Other movie of his is The Secretary you know people get all craze abbot 50 Shades of Grey which is awful awful awful but she real original Mr. GREY is James Spader in the Secretary. I know the writer for Shades of Grey stole the ideal from The Secretary cause it's the same freaking concept. Same name too with mr Grey. Stargate has great score too Well onto The New Guy with all them Buffy cast
