It does not matter that you have or don't have anything to hide. You can't spy on people to find something to justify your spying in the first place. Spying is just wrong. Don't be the government Shannan! Dig was right, Ollie should've just told the team and I'm sure Rene would've came out. And what's up with you being all up in Dinah's ass for the past couple of episodes. You got Earth-2 Laurel, Katie Cassidy is back as a regular cast member, and Black Siren is better than that horrible good-for-nothing 'captain buckles' who died in season 4(Thank you Damien). I thought you're done your whining over replacing Laurel's Black Canary, what happened?

Did you just call Rene Wildcat? It's Wild Dog, Wildcat was the guy who trained Laurel back in season 3 I believe?

Oh and also, they didn't actually find out by spying that Rene was the one who betrayed them. He literally just told them, so it's safe to assume he would do that if they just asked like John suggested. The spying was completely unnecesary imo

I personally think the problem is that fans are more likely to be biased towards characters they've known longer. Just imagine if it was reversed, if Oliver betrayed the team to protect William . Or when Diggle was keeping a secret in the beginning of the season, what if Rene, Dinah, and Curtis had spied on him to figure it out. Would that have stll been okay?

Yes, Dinah and Rene had things to hide. But they have the right to feel upset for being spied on. People are allowed to feel the way they feel. No one is allowed to dictate what another person feels.

I personally think that everyone was in the wrong except for Curtis, and maybe Diggle. Spying on them was wrong, regardless of whether or not they had something to hide. Just because something was found out doesn't make it right. The ends don't justify the means. Dinah should have talked to the team about Vigilante, so she is also in the wrong. I personally think Rene isn't wrong to choose his daughter over the team, but is in the wrong in that he should have told the team about it.

Second the reason he spied on them is because literally last season a member of the team turn out to be a mole. I don’t like that fact that Oliver spied on them but I understand why he went that route.

Yea but what makes Renee less sympathetic is he didn’t leave the team. He obviously care about getting his daughter so he should have left the team and told them what Watson was doing. They could of came up with a way to destroy evidence

There is nothing wrong with spying, spying is just another word for investigating. They initiated the spying/investigating after finding out someone was betraying them (probable cause). Is it wrong to spy if you have probable cause to initiate the spying hell no, if it was wrong then it would be wrong for police to stake out or follow suspects. As for your 2nd point about being up in Dinah's ass the last couple of episodes then why the fuck not, she has been regularly meeting Vigilante behind everyone's back, yet as Shan said Dinah is playing the victim, when she is just pissed she got caught. There has been no Laurel this Dinah that crap like Shan used to go on about, she was literally commenting on Dinah's response to it all.

There's a lot in this ep that didn't make sense about everyone's actions. Like why did Oliver think that spying on everyone was a good idea? Did he think that anything else would happen besides them not wanting to be on the team anymore? Why did he just not ask them all individually? Then if he doesn't get the answer he wants, tell them that they are all under surveillance. That would have been Rene's opportunity to come clean, which he likely would have, because of the way he confessed in this ep. Also, I think Rene was written as the one that would testify, because he was very unlikely to be the one. Dinah would have made more sense. It didn't make for a good reveal, because instead of saying "oh wow, ok. Good twist!" it was more like "ok, WTF. Why?" But then when he was in the field, he was right when he told Oliver that he acted the same way since he's been on the team. But Oliver made the piss poor excuse that well, he was trusted then and now he has to follow the chain of command? Even when his actions were crucial to them succeeding? Then he kicks him off the team? Anyway, it doesn't take a Thinker to see that none of this is permanent anyway.

The thing is oliver need to lay down the law earlier. It’s ok for Renee to follow instinct, he does need to follow his leader if he doesn’t want to do that then he should start his own team.

I think spying is alright depending on the situation, but I also feel like the person should at least be given the opportunity to tell them. For example, they should have let Dinah tell them about vigilante before the team tells her they know. I feel like this is better. Also I full on respect Renee in this episode, he was put in an impossible position with his child. I understand he could have warned Oliver, but I'm happy Oliver understood from a father point of view. But one thing to point out, which I think is more so a writing error or something, but Dinah literraly told Vigilante about Oliver. She literraly used Oliver's real name. I understand Vigilante already knew, but still not the point. I also don't like that Terrific got drunk and did what drunk guys do at other peoples wedding parties etc. I just don't think this was him. Fair enough he's got a divorce, but again not his day, and the divorce happened a while ago. I'm not saying he would be happy, but still. Overall a great episode, loved the party. And I'm happy Felicity's parents got along for the sake of their daughter. It shows maturity and basic humanity. It her day not there's. And I love that we have a group of bad guys, because I always love when villains take a page out of the heroes book. I'm also happy that we have seen some of them before, like Anatoli.

Ok... I know people hate Schism (Season 4 Finale) and I believe Shan hates Eleven-Fifty-Nine (The episode where Laurel dies). This is mine. This is the episode I hate the most in Arrow so far. This episode felt like let's take all the character development of the last 6 years and throw it out the window so we can further the plot. This is like what Game of Thrones did in Season 8. Believe it or not the only person that seemed to be at least close to what they would normally do is Renee and even he was uncharacteristically nice and regretful this episode. I will talk more about it another time but the gist of it is it seems like they are going for a team break over an issue like they did with the Avengers in Civil War. In Civil War it was regulation and with Arrow it seems to be surveillance/ loss of trust. The problem between the two is in Civil War, both sides had valid arguments and based on their past experiences, you can see where they are coming from whereas in Arrow... everyone is wrong and forgets all their character development . Everyone in Arrow screwed up and there are no valid arguments.

Maybe but the problem is Oliver didn't set that precedent before. He let Renee pretty much do what he thought was best and it has been working. Like in this ep, it was instrumental in them succeeding. Then though, he says you're off the team because you strayed off the path. It's obvious that the real reason was him testifying but he still needed the team to find Capt Lance. So Oliver was being hypocritical IMO.
