Why does the salvatore school offer fight training but not offensive magic?

I think you will be caught up when season 3 airs :) Does anyone know if they stared filming again ?

siphoning is magic ,and magic doesnt work.

I think they made the anti-magic created by that blood fountain different enough from the anti-magic that covered Mystic Falls that I can accept that what can and can't be siphoned would be different, too. I mean, if it was the same, then all the vampires at the school would have just died within minutes of them activating the fountain, rather than just having their rings stop working. Also, what Kai siphoned was the spell itself; it's not clear if he would have been able to siphon anything else within the anti-magic border. So maybe the twins would have been able to siphon magic from the fountain, but still weren't able to siphon anything else until the fountain was deactivated.

Yeah I think it is definitvly different from the spell on MF. I think it just inactivates powers (so as the siphon power) and magical objects. I think it was really clever for Ric to have this. Maybe Caroline found it on some of her trips or so ?

I dunno if they started filming yet, But she was given some dated intel by a friend. She will officially be posting the S2 finale to Legacies on the 16th of November :)

Okay so the thing about the anti magic spell. I don’t believe we saw Kai in mystic falls when the spell was still up, but Kai was at the border of the spell so he was able to absorb the magic, if that makes sense. Josie & Lizzie weren’t. They were in the middle of a no magic zone, so they do not have their siphon abilities

Also the anti magic zone in Mystic Falls had not fountain that could be turned on or off like in the school it was just the spell on the city. In the school the fountain is the spell, there is no spell on the school directly like you could see in the the traveler spell unfolding. So the only thing they could have done is for Lizzy to come with Hope and siphon the object that could have worked. Btw. when the fountain surpresses magic couldn't Ric just turn it on on a full moon for the wolfs not to have to turn ?

When I first so the finale and found out that Hope is the loophole I was so amazed and I think it is brilliant what they did with that. The story why Hope got created is just amazing in my opinion. When I stared the show I was like why are monsters coming now without them ever being mentioned in the other two shows but than Malivore came into the pic and Landon with activating the artefacts and know tying in Hope with that is just amazing ! Brilliant addition to the mythology in my opinion. Isn't it funny that the son of Malivore and the loophole nature created are attracted to each other ? I think Hope is the first loophole "against" Malivore, a long time it was witches, werewolf and vampires they could control him but not for ever. Than nature needed to find away and I think it just took years for hope to exists. This is just my explanation. Really good reaction can't wait for your season 2 reactions

I think he wasn't even able to defend himself with magic against Damon (?) okay that could be because he had non atm or because of the spell. But I also think he would not have been able to siphon anything else

I'm with you on hating amnesia stories. I felt differently with this one though because it is a different take. I liked the thought of where the story could go with nobody remembering Hope.

Yeah at first I was like meh that sucks and the amnesia thing is stupid but it's different here and I get Hope that she doesn't wan't people to look for her so Ric should destroy her stuff. It's like the opposite to when Bonnie and Damon were put into the prison world. Nobody knew where they were but tried to search for them. Now they know that someone must have went into the pit but nobody knows who it was. It's a bit like in Lizzies wishes when Hope never was at the school. We see what the characters do if Hope wouldn't have come to their lives. I'm so hyped and the next episodes can't come soon enough !

It’s possible the key before was linked to bloodlines, maybe it was a specific werewolf bloodline or a vampire from like Finns or lols line, Finn and kols lines are dead and one of the wolf bloodlines is down to just keel in and her son. It’s possible that 3 separate lines were each the key, and when one of the, was wiped out, hope was created as a balance, wasn’t she conceived around the time Kol and his line died? Or, as it was stated that malivore could be defeated by the three bloodlines of the species that created it working together, and that the humans have been experimenting on malivore for decades to be able to use it on the safe species, maybe they finally succeeded in changing malivore enough that nature needed something new to be a balance, and made hope.

Very interesting theory. I really like it. I think that maybe since malivore found a way to biologically create Landon, that's when nature created Hope. Its just too much of a coincidence they around the same age.
