do you mind explaining to me what about anything i said was bias and racist? these are my reactions and im trying to express the way i think about things and calling me arrogant because of things i said is very aggressive and i really dont appreciate it since i think i made it clear that im a white girl and cant relate. i explained why i dont get involved in politics in this very episode, i don't want to educate myself on american politics because im australian and i honestly prefer my bubble where i enjoy my shows. please dont tell me to stop a show just because you don't like what i said. What you said actually really upset me as I tried to be as clear and honest and honestly i don't want to be walking on eggshells in my reactions. I actually enjoyed the two episodes so far minus the things I stated, if thats an issue for you then I'm sorry I tried to not be rude idk

People are entitled To their Own Opinion's Even Shane( i think that's how it's spelled). It's Called A Reaction For A Reason!💀

Yes they are, thank you for having a reasonable response. fyi it Is Shan :)

Samantha Bailey

So Greg Burt is that how you react to other non black people that watch and react to this show? ASR is only stating what she sees from the first 2 episodes of the series. Touche subjects for someone who is not of the same race or religion can be difficult to talk about no matter whom it is. If ASR's reactions to this show offend you that much than just don't watch them.

Tony

There's no need to be rude Greg. The points Shannan made in these reactions are valid. 9 out of 10 of the white people in these episodes were portrayed as bad. This is simply how it was shown and Shannan was well within her right to point it out.

Anonymous

The fact you are the only one who has said this Greg makes it obvious you have overreacted and let the recent case in American affect your thoughts on the reaction.

Brandon Wiesner

Yeah, there could have been a much nicer way of conveying what you are saying, instead of coming off as a rude ass douche.

Ralph

I liked the reaction and I know how hard to watch things like this is difficult and this is just the start and it gets better but I like the way she is handling this , the show contains stuff from what environment they are around so gangs and police and violence but also family and the community , if it was in mystic falls there would be a gang of hybrids and witches and Matt as the police officer lol ( inside joke from TVD ) but I can’t wait to see more

I kinda expected these types of reactions. The show has political and social commentary and I expected you wouldn’t be a fan of that aspect of the show. Guys let’s be civil about this. Shan has already made it clear she has trouble expressing her thoughts, and she likes to live in a bubble with no politics. As a white girl she has the privilege to do so. Please don’t attack her personally for sharing her opinions and thoughts on a show she seems to be enjoying. That’s a part of the fun of watching a reaction. Shan isn’t going to get everything. Different perspectives. Different life experiences will lead to different opinions. I think Shan is quite a nice and wonderful person let’s keep the attacks on a low and if you disagree or feel you need to explain something because Shannan is missing the mark be polite about it. Let’s respect Shan enough to not engage in vile political discussions as I’m sure this is one of the MANY reasons she stays out of it.

I think you’re reading too much into the ending. There’s a lot of white led shows that often times depict Black people or any person of color as a thug, gangster, or bad guy. Plenty of white led shows have next to no Black or People of color outside of maybe ONE Black best friend for “token” purposes. If this is a spoiler let me know so I can remove it but just so you’re aware. The bald guy at the end is Albino. Not half white, not white. But Albino. And his two accomplices are comic book canon characters. I won’t say any of their names cause spoilers but this is from the comics and I know how much you like the canon Shan. Sometimes it’s deeper like the last episode where they depicted police brutality, racial profiling, with the two cops. And sometimes it’s just they happen to be white. Like there’s a lot of black characters on this show and they go even harder on the “Black gangster/thug” troupe than they ever do on white written and white led shows in my opinion. So it’s not always that serious. If you get what I mean?

Anonymous

Agreed Kevin. Unless they’re making a deliberate point, I think that the cops you’re seeing be mostly white is just a coincidence. Also the bald guy being albino is not a spoiler, he mentioned being black during the episode.

Anonymous

Yea I thought it wasn’t. It’s just Shan is really strict with spoilers and I just didn’t want to accidentally spoil something. And it really is just a coincidence. I think cause there’s social and political commentary in this show Shan is thinking deeper which is sweet imo but she’s reading too much into it at times. It’s just a show Shan relax lol

Andrew Polinski

Hey Shan as you said you like living in your own little bubble here in Australia and not get into international politics and to be honest i like seeing your reactions to things you have no prior knowledge about and kind of learning as you go along. I am going to say this without hopefully spoiling anything (going to try and word this spoiler free, someone let me know if you think I fail, I will edit) From around this time going forward Arrowverse has more political/social issues being brought to the forefront, even more so than previous seasons. So there is a chance you may 'insult' some people with your lesser knowledge of these issues but don't take it to heart, there are many of the ASR community that will try to explain to you not in a A-Hole way.

Like your reactions and nice with show I have not seen either. I am like 1000% politcal person than you so even though I am not American either. I read what a lot American politics and been there so how they show things in these two first episode doesn’t surprise me sadly. Don’t really have more to say just want to say I like your reactions and even though I different opinions of how tv shows can be political. I am also using these kind of tv shows to escape, but don’t have problem these kind of tv shows raising awareness of issues in some way too,

Wyatt

I’m sorry Greg but no she said nothing of the sort. All she did was ask why all of the white characters she had seen (excluding Gambi and extras) were villains? Which is true! That’s not racist, it is just a straight up fact. Shan you are fine and said nothing offensive this episode

Dear Shan, I'm sorry if this apology comes across as too little, too late and that I let my original comment stay up for so long for everyone to see, causing a shit storm in the comment section. And I'm sorry for forcing you to respond and defend yourself against untrue and extremely harmful accusations. Firstly, I want you to know that you in no way were in the wrong in making a simple observation about the show. You weren't bias in any way, you weren't arrogant in any way, and you most certainly were not racist in any way. I'm sorry for upsetting you and making you feel that you needed to justify your talking points, especially when you really didn't need to because they were in no way offensive or racist. I'm so sorry for saying that you needed to educate yourself on something in which you have no real reason too. I made the comments with no regards or consideration towards anyone but my own. To the viewers who thankfully called me out on the stupid things I said I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I caused everyone to feel terrible.
