It sucks that you haven't seen the Spartacus tv series because it was kinda fun to have 3 of its lead actors in the same episode (sometimes in the same shot)

imagine how we felt when we saw this ending at that time, like u end shit like this and we have to suffer for 4 months))))))))

Lor_D_Richafa

Adrian Chase won, He was always 10 steps ahead the entire season down to the last second. Like he said in 5x22 "see you on the boat" He wanted Olie on that boat.

Did you like superman returns?

James jackson

Digger harkness aka Captain Boomerang was the bad guy in the brave and the bold crossover in season one of the flash and three of arrow.

Tony

She's rewatched Superman Returns, I'm fairly certain she liked it. It's been a while since I seen it. Can almost guarantee you she liked it more than Man Of Steel. Not sure you have the right tier. But here's the link to the Rewatch: https://www.patreon.com/posts/superman-returns-21919664

To be fair both Kovar and Chase tried to break Oliver by torturing him with his past, it's just that only one of them suceeded. So there's a slight resemblance. But I feel like the point of cutting that fight between them was to show the pararell of Oliver killing Kovar without even really thinking about it (even though he didn't NEED to kill him) and then sparing Prometheus

Devil’s Arrow

The mirakiru wore off in slade because Oliver gave him the cure at the end of season 2.

Andreas Froby

Malcolm "A conflict of interest in general" haha

I think she means that in season 3 episode 14 "The Return", when the flashbacks were in Starling and in the present day Thea and Ollie were fighting Slade on the Island. Slade was already cured of mirakuru but he still tried to kill Oliver, and still kinda looked insane. But my theory is that the mirakuru didn't wore off instantly from his system when he was cured. Sure the cure took away his superstrenth immediately, but he was under the influence of this drug for more than 5 years, it just took more time for him to come to his senses and he still was a bit crazy in that 3x14 episode)

And Ollie did mention at the end of that crossover that he put Digger in this prison with Slade. So I'm glad that the show didn't just forgot about him and brought the actor back for the episode)

I'm glad you liked this season and this episode. That was the best episode of Arrow of the first 5 seasons and definately the best finale of the first 5 seasons. It's a shame that you didn't liked the flashbacks this year(I liked them a lot), but thankfully everyone can agree that they were so much better that season 3 and 4 flashbacks. And I think that helps with the perception of the season as a whole. And it did help that Adrian was so freaking awesome. And he 'got out' on top. I mean, I was wishing he somehow survived, no matter how stupid and convoluted the explanation would have been, I would've taken it in a heartbeat, just so that he could return.....he was that freaking good in my opinion))) And I hope that your editors or whoever does your watchorder, took pity on you and put Arrow 6x01 somewhere in the beginning, 'cause that break between seasons 5 and 6 was rough on all of the Arrow fans)

Zach

Was really cool seeing everything come full circle on the island. Also I’m pretty sure they used Season 1 footage for Oliver moving through the jungle/shooting the arrow. The phone call with Moira was new of course and was a really great scene.

Jason Veevaert

And Slade signaling to Oliver with "No surrendering against these guys".

Brandon Wiesner

I'm watching the show with you, so I don't know how it will happen but I can tell you with confidence that obviously they are not just going to kill off the entire cast. I'm sure they will show in the S6 premiere that they escaped somehow before the bombs went off. Again, I haven't seen past this episode, so that's not a spoiler.

Wyatt

For me, this was the last episode I saw before I was caught up and I finished it three weeks before season 6 started so

Wyatt

And this episode perfectly caps off my favorite season of the first five with my favorite episode of the first five. Forcing Oliver to work with and trust the main villains of the first 2 seasons and the daughter of the 3rd. Having Dinah finally earn the Black Canary title and having so many even and well choreographed fights while finally connecting the 5 years of flash backs to where we started. But the most important part, proving how far ahead Chase actually was by paying off the “I’ll see you on the boat” line. And of course, boom! The thing no one actually thought would happen... Chase wins. He does what no one since Malcom Merlyn has done and beats Oliver in his end game blowing up the island and (presuming) killing most if not all the people he holds dear as season 5 ends with explosions in the background. I remember being so stunned watching that episode. I immediately thought, “well they are not gonna kill of the entire cast right?” Then later thinking... “what if they did?” What if they had only a few characters live and turned the show into Oliver continuing on as the Green Arrow Reconciling with all the people he lost in the blink of an eye while trying to raise his son. Unlikely? Sure. But how powerful would that be? Idk that’s just what was going through my mind when I saw this episode.

This was one of my favorite episodes long with you're reaction

David Brown

Chris, as long as Arrow 6x01 & Legends of Tomorrow 3x01 are watched before The Flash 4x01. I can't stress this enough!

David Brown

25:51 Curtis: "De plane, boss, de plane" is a reference to Fantasy Island (1977-1984).

Tammy L. Faulkner

If I remember correctly, my reaction to the ending of s5 was "NNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" with a river flowing down my face. Yes... I was THAT girl. BTW, I hste ALL flashback from this show EXCEPT s1, only because we see HOW he started on his path.

DazzNovaNature

Agreed, Great finale and cliffhanger. I liked your reaction to the boomerang, I was waiting for that.
