I would hope Mon El and Kara have more chemistry than her and James. The actors are married in real life. She is actually pregnant with their first child right now.

Personally I blame the writing, the two obviously have physical chemistry with each other, but sometimes melodramatic dialogue can make a relationship feel more corny

I definitely thought the same thing when I saw and and even now that when the 2nd breach opened up that flash could have come through and maybe like thrown lightning at cyborg superman

I think part of what you're trying to say about the storyline with Alex is that it's being handled in a very dignified way, making it feel natural and organic. It's not being rammed down the viewer's throat as a *LOOK AT US! WE'RE SO WOKE!* kinda way that many programs do. It's just being treated exactly the way it should be - as normal and natural, whilst also trying to show the stages people go through coming out.
