The actor who plays Henry Allen was the flash in the 90s TV show and the actress who plays Tina was the love interest who just happens to be the same character Tina in the 90s show

Yeah, this is the Laurel that should have been on Arrow. Notice how all the Earth-2 people are mostly the polar opposites of their Earth-1 counterparts? If they are good on Earth-1, they are evil on Earth-2, and vice-versa. That seems to hold for about 90% of them.

She was miscast. She is good at one thing...soap opera drama, she doesn't have the comedic timing of some of the other actors, and she didn't have the believable fierceness to be an "action" show actor...people may be upset a the writers for killing her off, but they don't realize how much worse and tiring it would be to have her rehashing her one skill...crying followed by i'm tough girl, followed by crying, followed by i'm an independent tough girl, followed by crying...rinse repeat.

To be fair this episode aired a month after the Arrow episode where Laurel died. This couldn't have been a response to fan reaction, not within that time frame. Also both episodes were written by the original showrunners, with Guggenheim writing the Arrow episode and Berlanti writing this one. light spoilers below: I know that Laurel dying upset a number of fans but even years later it amazes me that no one will admit that it's possible that her death was planned for reasons other than the fact that Guggenheim didn't like Laurel and instead that they did in fact have a plan, especially given what they do going forward. (Also that people refuse to admit that what they did made the show better)

what was cool about her being here was the fact that she had just died and being able to get to see her again and it opens up the possibilities for all new story lines with her as black siren instead of black canary
