OMG! Gotham? Yas!

Gotham is one of the best DC shows and I hope you can do the whole series, each season gets better and better and is one of the most creative shows out there, the character growth is some of the best I've seen in any show, also are you saying I shouldn't watch Smallville because its a prequel series too, which is perfect timing since another patron I'm subbed to just started Smallville, you just gotta keep watching to fully see how great the show is :D

Walter Alcaraz

Oh hell yeah! Hope this becomes a regular show!

Brendan O'Connor

I watched the first season, didn’t watch the rest in full but I saw bits and pieces of the rest. I really hope you continue with this series!

As a larger guy who doesn’t work out very often I 100% agree Jim should have been able to catch up to Mario on the rooftop

I didn’t catch up to watch Gotham live until the 5th and final season this year. I liked the unique portrayal of the characters in this show compared to other versions of the characters. Really hope this series gets picked up

Emma goldsbrough

I watch the next eps then I stop watching it.

Chris Peacock

Well Jim had to stop and duck because he was getting shot at. I promise I could get away from a guy in better shape than me if I’m shooting him and he isn’t shooting back.

I enjoyed watching Gotham as it aired. Sometimes I wasn't happy with changes made to the Batman story but overall liked the show. It is a prequel series focusing more on Jim Gordon than Bruce Wayne. It is also an alternate universe series with many Batman villains and storylines appearing before Bruce Wayne becomes Batman

IIRC "Fish" Mooney was created for this series. Poison Ivy was Pamela Isley in the comics. As most people may not know that the show may have introduced a girl named Ivy as a more obvious Batman reference.

I love Gotham. Watched it as it aired but only made it through season three as I started working a second job and really haven’t been able to keep up with my shows since then. I would love to rewatch and then catch the last two seasons with you once you have an opening in your schedule.

Gotham is one of the better comic-related shows on TV. It's definitely called "Gotham" for a reason, instead of Batman. It's a show about the city and characters around Bruce, since the mainline batman stuff has been retread so often.

Gotham was a show I wanted to LOVE. Overall (IMO) it was just okay. It had some great ideas, and great events and scenes, that make it worth watching. My problem is just that the show didn't seem to know what it wanted to be. You say it's a prequel like Smallville. Which could be cool. However Smallville showed how Clark grew into what Superman was. With Batman other than his parents death, he doesn't start becoming what becomes Batman until he starts travelling the world and start training, which would mean leaving Gotham, which is the title of the show. The other side of Smallville was Superman in Highschool, kinda like Buffy. Gotham doesn't work in that regard either. It was presented as Gotham before Batman with Gordon (and possibly Bullock) cleaning up Gotham crime and police corruption. Cool concept. The problem is that we know from the start, they can't do that. They have to fail. If they were able to do so, then there would never have been a need for Batman. Otherwise Bruce Wayne even still affected by his parents deaths, would have more likely become a police officer or something, perhaps even inspired by Gordon. It seemed like there were 3 or 4 concepts to the show that they just couldn't decide on so it didn't have a concrete idea. I still think it's worth watching and you should continue (at least at some point) and as I said there are some great things about the show even if they don't make a cohesive whole. I love the unclear time period. They mix stuff in from the 20s and 30s and the 90s and 2000s. We've got pretty modern forensics and protocols, but old cars, and cameras, mixed in with computers and cell phones but they are old style and flip phones. There is a lot of character dump for a first episode.

What confuses a lot of people about Gotham is that they get stuck on how Batman will grow into this world. The whole point is he won't, Gotham is essentially another world in the multiverse where the villains emerge because of Gordon not Batman. Essentially in Gotham Gordon is Batman. By the time Bruce grows up and becomes Batman there will be a different set of challenges to face, this time Batman's enemies are Gordon's.

Always enjoy seeing your reaction when you recognize characters from the mythos :)
