She said she loved them both, but I'm not sure she really ever did love, love Damon. She certainly never showed it in her actions. I think she was more infatuated with how much Damon loved her.

I think she did. We tend to think of love in specific ways, but really it’s a pretty broad term. Also, she is more or less a sociopath even at the best of times so...

I'd say the opposite. I don't think Katherine ever loved either one of them. Not really. Or, only in an extremely selfish way. She proved that every time she's made it clear that Stefan's happiness is irrelevant to her. She has said repeatedly that if she can't have Stefan, nobody can. In season 2, she threatened Elena and made Jenna stab herself just to force Stefan and Elena to break up. Someone who acts like that isn't experiencing any emotion I would be willing to call love. She may be obsessed with Stefan, but I can't consider the way she has ever behaved towards him the actions of someone who even knows what love is.
