Great reaction. I loved this show, still a little sad it only got one season. I may have to rewatch it now.

This show by Aaron Sorkin was highly anticipated, because of Sorkin and the cast. But it was never really that successful. One problem people have mentioned looking back at it is that they wanted to present the live sketch TV show on the show as really brilliant and hard-hitting political / social comedy. But they were never able to present samples of the show that were that good. So it's kind of like having a singer character who everyone on the show says in wonderful, but when WE hear her she's not that good, so the whole thing rings a little false. The Pilot was good because they never really showed the TV show in action. Once they started doing that, it fell a little flat. I guess it's hard to make a TV show about a TV show!

I loved this show and was really not happy when it got canceled after one season. The cast was so good. I agree with Andrew about the sketches on the show but I think if they had another season they would’ve worked it out.

Another thing about Studio 60 is that it relies a lot on the audience being familiar with the real U.S. TV show "Saturday Night Live." I have thought a few times about whether you would like the Pilot of "The West Wing," which is Aaron Sorkin's most successful TV series, but that show relies a lot on some familiarity with U.S. politics, so I am not sure whether it works as well with someone outside the United States. But it has the combination of great cast, fast-paced dialog, and also the ambition to be "important" that Studio 60 tried to have. And Matthew Perry was on "The West Wing" for a little while too!

West Wing and newsroom are better examples of sorkin genius but probably too rooted in American politics for this channel

HUH... LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER SHOW TO ADD TO MY NEVER ENDING LIST...

I used to watch this religiously. Brilliant, but shortlived show

Ed Asner seems to be playing an older version of Lou Grant.
