Lol don't worry about your ranting, I'm pretty sure everyone (including Stelena shippers) felt like throwing their hands up in frustration in this episode! This is actually where a lot of the Elena-hate began in the fandom, but as frustrating as she is, I do actually feel sympathy for Elena here. Elena is a new vampire, and she needs to learn how she's going to relate to her vampirism. It will be different for her than Stefan, Caroline, or Damon because her personality is uniquely unsuited for being a vampire. Elena feels compassion for everyone and she wants to make people happy. All of that got heightened when she turned plus she got the vampire drive to hunt and feed and enjoy it. Even though, as you said, she isn't hurting anyone here when she feeds, it still feels wrong to her to enjoy seeing a human being as prey. Her two sides are in conflict, and she needs to sort them out if she wants to survive. Damon's solution is to not coddle her, push her off the deep end, and let her work it out now when she's still new. Stefan's solution is to prevent the conflict at all - either by not feeding from the vein or by curing her. Bonnie is just kinda being judgy, but that's kinda in character for her lol (remember when she almost refused to make Caroline a daylight ring?). Unfortunately, witches instinctively dislike vampires because of their opposite magics, and that makes loving her vampire friends tricky for her. Love love love your reaction!!

The animal blood diet didn't fuck up stefan. He's been a ripper since day 1 of beeing a vampire. Only after he met Lexi, he kind of learned how to control himself. Anyways, I agree that its a bit annoying that one moment Elena enjoys what she does, and the next she tells herself that she shouldnt be doing this or that. But I guess that's how people react when they start changing, with keeping in mind how they used to be.

The Elena conflict was crazy to me, I honestly believe Elena emotionally feels guilt when she saw Bonnie and she was reveling in blood, cuz she expects her friends to see her as the human who loved people and wouldn't hurt a soul, Damon was totally right, she has to learn how to feed and accept being a vampire. Also that Rebekah scene at the end broke me cuz i've always felt like her and Damon have the same parallel when it comes to people they love NOT loving them back, which honestly sucks.

I completely agree that Damon is right – Elena needs to learn how to feed on human blood, and she’ll be better off if she can enjoy it than if she feels all brooding and guilty every time she feeds. And I loved seeing her enjoying herself for a little while at that party, feeding without really hurting anyone and dancing with Damon. And, yes, she was definitely having fun, but that doesn’t mean she was lying when she told Stefan it was awful. I think Elena sometimes cares far too much about what other people think, and the moment she saw the look of shock and disapproval on Bonnie’s face, she internalized it; Bonnie’s opinion made Elena feel like she was a bad person for enjoying herself. So, it’s not so much that the feeding itself was awful – she even admitted that she got caught up in it, which is as good as saying it was fun. What she’s looking back on and feeling awful about is the very fact that it was fun. And that’s what she needs to get over – as long as she’s not actually hurting anyone, she needs to stop feeling guilty for doing what she needs to do to survive. And she has to stop caring so much what other people think, because I honestly believe, if Bonnie hadn’t walked in and looked at her with so much disapproval, she wouldn’t have started to beat herself up for enjoying herself.

I think Part of Elena’s reaction may of been about how she was interacting Damon rather than just the blood. Have you ever really connected with someone while you were dating someone else and maybe let things go further than you should of? Even if you didn’t cheat It can bring on a lot of guilt.

I totally agreed with Damon as well. Elena just let's her friends judgements and thoughts dicatate how she acts and feels. It's like she was totally having fun and then Bonnie came in with all the judgements and she internalized it because she thinks she is supposed to feel horrible because Stefan, Caroline and Bonnie all judge her for when she let's loose especially when she happens to be with Damon. My poor Damon gets blamed and critizied a lot of the time when he doesn't deserve it.

Caroline has the best self-control of any vampire around and she drinks human blood. Vampires do not need to drink animal blood to be in control.

great reaction. I constantly rant about vamp elena and everyone's treatment of her. I feel like damon was genuinely helping elena by teaching her how to hunt, feed, and erase successfully without hurting or killing anyone, and doing it in a way that was fun and instinctual. Stefan trying to teach elena how to hunt animals felt a little more stiff to me. and I really felt the pressure of him trying to make elena like him, or make elena be the way he would prefer her to be, which kind of sucks. I know its a huge adjustment for everyone, but it is what it is. elena is a vamp now, she has vamp needs and instincts, and i hate all the judging she gets from everyone.

Out comes the Elena we saw on the first road trip, this being road trip number 4 with her and Damon. Out comes the happy Elena before the car crash, before the survivor's guilt, the girl Damon met first.
