High school is 4 Year’s. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior. I think Elena was a Junior at the beginning of the show, but might be wrong. Jeremy was a Freshman if I remember right. It’s a stupid question, but people do keg stands in Australia?

I'm going to give you info from the timeline on the Vampire Diaries wiki, but I wouldn't recommend reading it yourself because it would be hard to avoid spoilers. First, before I start on the timeline stuff, in the U.S., high school is four years (grades 9-12, also called Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior). The school year usually goes from early September through mid-June (some schools start and end earlier, like from mid-August through late May, but the schools in Mystic Falls seem to be on a September-June schedule.) Now, from the timeline: Elena's parents died at the end of their Sophomore year in high school (May 23, 2009) The show started at the beginning of their Junior year in high school (September 7, 2009). The first season ends February 25, 2010, and the second season starts immediately. The second season ends on May 1, 2010 The third season starts on Elena’s 18th birthday, June 22, 2010. Their senior year in high school started on September 6, 2010 The third season ends late night/early morning November 6/7, 2010, and the fourth season starts immediately.

Rebekah did destroy the bags of blood Klaus took from Elena in 3x21, but he had already made a bunch of hybrids from the blood he'd taken from her in 3x05.

One thing I like about the way this show portrays vampires is that they're not just humans who are extra strong and happen to drink blood, they are an entirely different species. While they still have emotions, humans are instinctively their prey. You can see in both scenes when Caroline and Damon stopped Elena from attacking a human the different reactions she has to them vs humans. She snarls at them but listens, when she doesn't even seem to hear the humans, which I interpret as her instinctively knowing that they are her kind, while Matt/April are food. Enjoying violence and hunting prey is part of who they are. Caroline has accepted that and uses it to her advantage, Damon has learned to enjoy it, and Stefan is fighting it (poor Stefan lol). It's interesting to see how Elena will come to terms with it (if she does) because as a human she was so empathetic and compassionate. So excited for your next reaction!

It's only been less than 2 years because the first episode of the series was the first day of junior year for them.
