Full Reactions vs. YouTube (Patreon)

Hey!

So in my Q&A video a question was asked and that was if I was ever going to do full reactions every now and then and post them to YouTube.

I instantly thought it would be a good idea to maybe for the 100th episodes of each TV show I watch - that in the descriptions of the cut reactions - to have a link to the full reaction on OneHub.

For example:

Buffy S05E22 - The Gift is the 100th episode, and when posting it to YouTube - In the description would be a link to see the full reaction.

This would be a special thing since it's the 100th episode (they're normally a big deal) I figured it would be a nice way to give back to the community.

However, YOU guys are what decide this. 

You all pay to see full reaction videos and I wouldn't dream of giving a freebie out unless you were okay with the idea. It would be 1 full reaction per show.

Positives:

+ It's the 100th episode!

+ More content for people to see!

+ It could show what people are missing out on with full reactions (get them interested - I feel ew saying this)

Negatives:

- You could be annoyed at freebies being given out when you pay for them (which is completely understandable).

To be clear, the episodes would be:

Angel S05E12 - You're Welcome

Arrow S05E08 - Invasion!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S05E22 - The Gift

Marvels Agents Of SHIELD S05E12 - The Real Deal

Supernatural S05E18 - Point Of No Return

The Vampire Diaries S05E11 - 500 Years Of Solitude


I will keep this poll open for ONE week and make a decision based off the results.

I'm voting no not because I don't want to see that, but because 100th episodes, in particular, aren't necessarily the best choices for it. I'd argue that the patrons in each fandom could probably best pick one or two episodes per series that would make the best showcase.

I voted no, not because it's a freebie, but because I think a lot of people want to see the 100th episode in full bad enough to sub on patreon(since they're milestones some of those eps are exceptional). If you think making it open to the public will help more, then I support it completely.

I agree in theory. I disagree with having that Arrow episode be the one for Arrow. I can't really say why. Edit: Upon further reading of other comments, I'm going with no but just because of the episodes, not the idea in general. Dipper has the right idea.

I'm fine with a freebie. Heck I'm fine with 2 or 3 freebies if I'm being honest. Maybe others aren't, but if we're talking about Buffy as an example, I can think of several that non-patrons would probably debate over wanting to see in full. A quick example would be Season 6 Episode 7. Also I'd imagine the series finale(of the shows that are finished) would also be a big contender. Anyway, I do like the 100th episode idea, so I'll go ahead and vote yes. But again, I'm not against possibly others as well.

Also, speaking of The Gift. You may have missed my comment before in an Angel episode, but trust me. Watch the Previously on Buffy for that one before watching the episode. It won't spoil anything, but it's a neat little thing for the 100th episode, not to mention the season finale. You can find the segment on YouTube. It's like 40 seconds long. If you want to completely avoid accidental spoilers coming up in a YouTube search I (or somebody else) could even just give you the link.

Yeah. Buffy Season 6 episode 7 would be my pick if I wasn't already getting them all.

Nothing wrong with one or two freebies for the community... i like your idea of 100th episodes. Maybe just leave your options open... maybe there is an amazing series finale or opener, or just a totally amazing episode full stop and you decide to do a free full reaction for youtube. The patreons still get ALL the full reactions which we love :) but most (if not all) of us would not begrudge a couple special occasion freebies - also agreeing with other commenters that you might do better with certain episodes over others... x

I'm good with that idea. While 100th episode is a decent place to go with if all else fails, if a better episode choice comes as the one freebie, I'm good with that too.

P.S.....no need to feel "ew" about letting the rest of Youtube seeing your magical ad lib lyrics and them flooding into your Patreon as a result. :D

All I can add is that other super successful Patreon reactors such as Blind Wave have done the free full reaction thing quite liberally and it seems to work for them. Go with whatever works for you.

I say Yes, but with caveats. I think it's a great idea. And I think it could be something that could get a few more people interested in Patreon. But, I don't know that it will get very many more Patreons. Those that would are already there. Another - the 100th episode is a great idea, but other comments about the value of those 100th episodes. For best effect you'd want them to be really good episodes and the Reactions to be something people would want to see a full reaction too. That's not the case for all episodes, sadly. So maybe just tweak it a bit and not worry about being exactly 100th episode.

I gave thumbs up to most of the other comments, but I might as well put in my 2 cents about why. It doesn't bother me at all if you give your YouTube viewers some full reactions. I think you could probably do what's best for your channel and your Patreon support. Your Patreon support is dependent on keeping it special to be a Patreon supporter, so you won't want to post too many to YouTube -- we know that. I share some other commenters feelings about using the 100th episode. [I edited this a couple of times.]
