Regardless of who you ship, I think Stefan TOTALLY had the right to punch Damon. That was/is his brother's girl and Damon knew it. There are some lines you don't cross. Even if you consider them broken up, you don't go there.... EVER!!!! I'm not saying I don't ship Delena, but Stefan has the right to feel betrayed.

I'm completely with you -- Stefan had no right to hit Damon. Any time I see any guy in any TV show or movie or whatever hit a guy because he made a move on his EX girlfriend, I lose a lot of respect for him (the only exception might be if the new guy is being a pest and the ex girlfriend doesn't want his attentions). He's basically just being an alpha male douche-bag and treating his ex like a piece of property. I don't care about any lame-ass "guy code" and I don't care if the guy was his brother or his best friend or what kind of relationship they had. Stefan and Elena have been broken up for about 6 months and Elena is a person, not a piece of property. She has the right to kiss anyone she wants.

I'm team Delena all the way but I wanted to point something g out. The punch had nothing to do with Elena. It had to do with Damon, who is his older brother, kissing g his ex-girlfriend. And I may point out that she is only his ex because Stefan sacrificed his own happiness to save Damon's life.

Everyone seems to forget this and it’s so triggering, the whole reason Stefan is in this situation is cause he’s saved Damon more than once when he could easily ignored that and just been with Elena, I think Damon has no right making a move on her knowing Stefan sacrificed it all for him, he’s just pretty much spitting in his face at that point

Basically by this point in time Stefan had pretty much broken up with Elena and driven her basically to Damon. Stefan made a choice, sacrifice or not, to drive her away completely, even when she wanted to help in Chicago. Then the humanity, and revenge phase over Klaus. At that point, his sacrifice to Damon was over, even after the saving Damon's life again with Klaus, he could have chosen to go a different route, as Elena even points out on the Bridge. Yet, the importance of this scene is just further foreshadowing of Stefan's reaction to when she finally chooses Damon over him after they had broken up fully in the next season. It shows Stefan's own character flaw in that as much as he said he respected her decision and the act of trying to appear to be better person and man, all of that falls apart when Elena choses Daman over him and he enters his sore loser phase for the first part of Season 4. He can't respect Elena or Damon at that point.

This ep always made me like Bonnie more than Caroline. Both of them hated Damon but Bonnie never judged Elena for her feelings for Damon
