Your reaction just dropped literally a minute ago, so I have not watched it. But seeing the title, I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.

Oh boy here we go, you know how rollercoasters have highs and lows? Well you can’t have the ups without the downs and this is a down. Let’s start with the positive the monster of the week was designed by a ten year old boy who won a competition on Blue Peter (long running children’s TV show) Showrunner RTD was inspired by Buffys The Zeppo and Star Treks TNG episode Lower Decks to make this episode which featured atypical characters. Yes Ursula was moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter good spot. An that’s it, it happened back in June 2006 so let’s leave it there. Cold alone and suffering in the dark naked and afraid. Shan if you decide to tap out after season two that’s okay with me, because at least you gave it a shot (you came you saw it wasn’t for you) there are some TV shows that I won’t even consider watching because they enrage me at the thought.

Andrew Polinski

Yeah, not much to be said here, it's not a good episode. Could have been done a lot better, just by removing the ridiculous comedic pieces would have improved this episode so much.

Zoot!

I would just like to apologize for this episode even existing :)

only one fact you need to know bout this episode, because you prob will never watch it again, IT IS SO VERY SHIT (excuse my french).

On boy, Shan can I just say I'm so sorry you had to watch that episode, but you have survived it I congratulate you. And now I'm going rant, wow that was as bad as the Bugs from Supernatural, bad as Beer Bad from Buffy, bad as Arrow Season 4! Why does this episode exist WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY?!?!?! Sorry about that, now I'm getting in my time machine to make sure this episode never happened, see you in a moment.

For the longest time, I hated this episode, I thought it was stupid as hell. In the past few years I softened up on it. I always gave the Absorbaloff a pass as it was created by a child who won a contest to create a new monster. Recently though I started liking the story of Jackie feeling alone & what happened to the loved ones of companions who go off with the doctor & also the idea of a group of people having brief encounters with the Doctor & come together to try to find him & figure it out, the execution just maybe wasn't the best The ending is still crap though, the whole Ursala's face is alive in a slab of stone still doesn't hold up to me

As a member of the people who wanted you to watch this show, we extend our deepest apologies for having you sit through that nonsense of an episode. We hope that you forget this episode ever happened We can now (hopefully) return to the regular schedule fun Doctor Who episodes… disclaimer i have no idea if the next episode is fun. I don’t even know what it is and I am too lazy to look it up

I remember watching the monster winning the competition, picked by Tennant himself. I was so hyped to see it appear in the show, cause the kid was roughly my age at the time, so to see a fan's creation appear on the show was awesome for me. Imagine my disappointment of how they used it. Not the kid's fault.

Hmmm, causality would suggest that, since this episode still exists, by getting in your time machine to stop it from happening, you actually caused it to exist... Everyone blame Charlie for "Love and Monster"!

I'll admit, one thing this episode evokes - besides that feeling in the space between your eyes, like a headache's about to come on - is sympathy for the members of "LINDA;" because they were a random group of people, united indirectly by the Doctor, who became friends and could just have a good time with each other, and then it all gets upended by the creature of the week. And I think that's the thing I hate most about the episode, that these characters had something good that gets taken away. The creature itself or the campiness... like, I don't really give a shit, honestly. There's a time and place for camp. One weakness of RTD, who can be a brilliant writer, is when he does humor he tends to lean hard into camp. It doesn't always work - for some reason, in Doctor Who it quite often doesn't work, which is a little Ood.. I mean odd... 😉

I was not a fan of this episode. I liked the idea of seeing more about Jackie and what it's like for the people who are left behind and who just have to wait for their family or friends to come back. I also felt bad for the group and watching them die, plus I kind of liked the song choice and moment in the episode. Everything else though, not really a fan of and I really didn't like that ending with her face on the slab.
