Hey! My name's in the title! The IDIOT'S Lantern! 😊 Oh wait.... 😭

Oh boy was that an episode that exists in the world. 2006 was a strange year, we had fast and furious Tokyo Drift, underworld evolution, Big mommas House 2 and this episode of Dr who which at the time was seen 6.7 million homes (including mine) and I can personally say there was a huge sigh of relief falling upon the nation when it was over. But shitting on this episode is like kicking a wounded animal it’s been done before and it’s not fun anymore. 1 bomb from me, Until next time.

How you can not like this adored, fan favorite.... augh, I can't finish typing that sentence. I feel dirty.

It did do one thing, it got me thinking. This episode they went back in time to 1953 and we saw the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth, Long may She reign, who only just passed away 2 years ago. ... Long She reigned indeed.

I'm a bit afraid to admit that I have always really liked this episode. Rewatching it now I'm figuring out that the reason for that is mostly nostalgia 😂 I think I first watched it as a teenager and back then I watched everything through "shipping goggles" and this episode had some nice Rose/Doctor interactions, so as a teen that was an instant win for me. 😅🙈 But I still kinda like how Rose investigates on her own and comes to the right conclusion. Also how the wife and son stood up for themselves. Anyways, I don't comment often so while I'm here: Thank you for your reactions. I started watching during season 3 of Buffy I think and you somehow managed to react to all my favorite shows. Which now finally includes some Doctor Who. Love them as always. :)

Charlie Matthews

In defence of this episode David Tenant is always good as the Doctor, especially when he puts the dad in his place with "AND I'M NOT LISTENING" (my favourite scene) and when Rose loses her face. But as a Brit 1953 is definitely a time I would go back to, so I can watch the Queen being crowed in person, so this historical moment makes me happy to be British!

Jeremy Burch

I liked Rose figuring things out on her own and I liked them telling the terrible dad off, plus I thought some of the missing face stuff was a little creepy. Other than that though, definitely not my favorite episode.
