Shan: "why do I feel like she's going to take the gun" Well...because you are not stupid and you watch TV shows for a living... kind of makes you see these things!

Stargazer1682

It was an okay episode. Sheppard being taken prisoner 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯, after everything with the Wraith, just to be let go felt anticlimactic and a little redundant. I couldn't remember how the episode ended and I partly expected it to turn out the blaster John used to call terms with the Wraith was actually out of juice. Now I think that would have been a better resolution. Larrin puts on the moves on John, in order to steal the stunner, but John's not dumb; he knows she's going to do this and lets her, because he knows it's dead and she can't use it on him. That's when we find out he bluffed the Wraith into give Larrin her life back and leaving the ship; and now she and John are pretty much at a stalemate. John offers the compromise that she can keep the ship, but let him go as a gesture of goodwill and to build a possible alliance in the future.

My understanding of Sam's hair was it was the due to the US Air Force. SG-1 had the cooperation of the Air Force with an advisor provided to them to ensure real life military protocol was followed, including the actors playing airmen having hair styles that met regulations I believe Amanda may prefer the long hair because during the time of SG-1 a lot of times seeing her in photos & videos in between seasons she would have longer hair. When SG-1 ended Stargate no longer had to strictly follow Air Force protocol as Atlantis had no cooperation with the Air Force being that in universe it was supposed to be a civilian run operation. Starting with The Ark of Truth, both Amanda & Sam were allowed to have longer hair, though technically in universe she should've still had short hair in the movie as Sam would still be under military protocol, but going to Atlantis she would not have the same protocol restrictions. As for being stationed at the Midway station at the start of this season, I'm not sure if the station counts as a military or civilian operation.
