You said you don't like the song by Toto. Which one, they sing lots of songs. Africa, Hold The Line, Rosanna, or something else?

Tony

It's "Africa", I'm 100% certain. I remember listening to covers in voice chat and being told (Not asked.. TOLD.) to skip the song.

Patrick - Excelsior

Shame, its a pretty song. But not everyone likes the same style of music. I will say Rosana is far superior.

Stargazer1682

The setup for this episode felt a little "paint-by-numbers," a little too similar to the last episode, but without the stakes. And the ending subsequently felt tacked on, because it didn't fit the last episode's structure; where they didn't have that kind of time to talk or bond after the task. I still liked it overall though. I liked the premise that Alice's mom's version of the ballad was actually a protection spell; because she knew it would be continually played and consequently protect Alice. Makes way more sense than her trying to open the Road with her fans. Like, could you imagine something like a Taylor Swift concert and the Road opens up and draws in several thousand people? I thought Alice saying her mom died "on the road," meaning while touring was clever. I'm also honestly kind of loving all these different versions of the ballad. It was only while watching a reaction to the first episode - possibly Shan's reaction - that I picked up on the fact that the "True Crime" intro was a blues/SVU-esque version of the Ballad; and that "Agnes" was humming it in the car. I liked the True Crime version, it's got that sort of smooth jazz feel I like, but the version that opened the road was good; this episode's 70s girl band version was good; hopefully this version can be downloaded somewhere that doesn't have the dialogue. It also makes me wonder if it was sort of necessary for them to sing the ballad again, in order for Rio to properly join them; since she hadn't been part of the initial coven. So this is the Road's way of initiating her and tasking Alice at the same time.

Stargazer1682

A Rio Theory - what if she turns out to be Agatha's sister, who joined her on the road first time? I know, there was that moment at the end, where you 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 expect them to kiss; and I feel like they played it off in a way that could go either way. Because instead they just hug, which made me wonder if it was meant to be a different kind of dynamic; something more platonic. So, the first time, Agatha goes down the road with her coven, which includes her little sister, Rio; they face all these challenges and most of the coven ends up dead. But Agatha protects her little sister and they both make it to the end of the road. Then, there's another theory someone else had that it was actually Rio who made the deal for Agatha's child in exchange for the Darkhold, which is the big betrayal - by her own sister, no less - which leads Agatha to steal the Darkhold from Rio and Agatha starts insulating herself from everyone, using the Darkhold to accumulate power so that nothing like that will ever happen to her again. I know, that goes way down a rabbit hole as theories go. And honestly, I'm just as okay if they're not siblings and they actually do have a romantic past.
