Rewatching this with you is reminding me just how good the show is. Doing a series based on movies from so long ago is very easy to mess up and very difficult to do right. They are proving that they know what they are doing and someone like me who grew up on the movies appreciates it so much. Kreese is definitely proving that he is still the same as he was back then. Maybe we're seeing the seeds of a conflict between him Johnny, because there is definitely a difference in how the two of them are teaching. Yes, they are all the same actors from the first movie. Fun fact, the guy that died was the one in the first movie that said at the tournament, "get him a body bag!" directed at Daniel. Then, at the end of the episode, we see him being put in a body bag. A bit of a morbid Easter egg. Also, he did actually pass away in real life. RIP Rob Garrison.

I really hope you warm up to Demetri. It wouldn't be the first time a character you hated at the beginning steals your heart. Kreese is a master manipulator, and he's good at it. He's manipulating everyone and taking advantage of Johnny's good heart. It's pretty messed up what happened to Tory's mom. I would have looked the other way. What do you mean someone was taking food we were already going to throw away so their kids can eat and not starve? I didn’t see anything, I swear. Everyone that comes back is played by the original actor. There are no recasts in this show, except for the brief cameo of Mr. Miyagi at the beginning. They purposely made sure his face wasn't visible and kept it quick. Any other character that comes back is 100% the same actor. I think what they did with Johnny and his friends was great. It was sad but also a little happy that he could spend his last day having fun. I know it's unrealistic, but I absolutely love when they just break into a fight. Whenever it happens, it's always fun. It's like when you join Cobra Kai or Miyagi-Do, you gain a little superpower of beating people up.

I just looked it up and he died 5 months after season 2 aired. Thats actually really sad and i never knew that.

Sending the Cobra Kai bullies to vandalize the Miyagi-Do studio seems a wimpy thing to do, very cowardly. How much courage does it take to attack a building or car with paint, trash a room or break some glass. The act has no honor at all. If that had done it face to face, it would have been wrong, but at least not cowardly. I like how some of the students left after Danial confronted Johnny, not all people learning self defense do it to become bullies. Some do it to protect themselves as well as others. This shows that. The actor playing Demetri actually is a skilled martial arts fighter. He is trained in Krav Maga. It’s a Shame that Chad McQueen (Dutch) was filming something across country and was unable to be in the episode. Would have been kewl to have all 4 original actors playing Johnny’s friends in the show. That would have made two series that had a member of the McQueen family in them. Chad McQueen in Cobra Kai and Steven McQueen, Chad's son, in The Vampire Diaries (Jeremy). Now if you react to the original Magnificent Seven, you get the trifecta. (not gonna happen, lol) Ron Thomas, who played Johnny’s friend, Bobby Brown, is a former world martial art champion and martial arts instructor. When Johnny and his friends ride off on their motorcycles, the same song ("The Ride") plays, which is the song that played in the first movie, when the Cobra Kai gang were about to ambush Daniel while on his first date with Ali at the beach. The fact that Rob Garrison was dying at the time he filmed this episode really makes his speech to Johnny about the best gift of all being time really hit home.

That mall fight was great, even though it was odd that no one got involved to stop it, I guess that security guard was really into his music and eating his lunch and also apparently the only security in the entire mall. Demetri can be annoying and again doesn't know when to or can't stop talking, but if he wants to write a bad review about a place, where an adult assaulted a minor, he probably should be allowed to and you definitely shouldn't have a group beating, seems a bit much. I really think it was messed up of them to destroy the Dojo, but it was so wrong of them to steal Miyagi's Medal of Honor, I kind of liked that moment when so many people walked out of Cobra Kai after Daniels speech. I know that Johnny had nothing to do with it and is trying to be a better and different Sensei, but he still let Kreese back in and still has that whole, "Strike First, No Mercy" slogan. I also liked that Daniel decided to tell everyone about his time being in Cobra Kai, it can help them understand that they can't judge people for just being a part of Cobra Kai and that doesn't necessarily represent who they are forever.. I feel like Sam would have liked that video Miguel made for her, I feel like, the way they acted with each other on their first date and with him getting her the octopus plushie, that ended up becoming their relationship mascot, she probably would have thought that it was cute but also incredibly cringey and it would have started them talking again, so maybe he should have sent it to her instead of deleting it, but well, now he's dating Tory I guess. I love that this show brings back the actual actors from the original movies, I think that's great. It was sad however to learn that Rob Garrison sadly died shortly after the season aired.

in my opinion... kreese is a psychopath!
