This is the episode that made me want to keep watching this show. I thought that Eccleston put on a fantastic (heh) performance. I'm with you, the humans were so damn stupid this episode. Silly shows like this I can look past that stuff though. I loved that they gave the Dalek a somewhat emotional storyline, interesting first impression of them - I haven't seen classic who, so this was my introduction to the Daleks too.

I've caught up on your Doctor Who reactions, it took me a bit to get myself to watch the farting Slitheen ones, I'm not a fan of those episodes. I'm glad when I started watching this show, I rented the whole first season and binged watched it, otherwise those episodes would have probably been the last of Doctor Who for me. I don't like fart jokes and outside of the fart jokes, I don't think those episodes were good. I liked a little bit of the moments between the Doctor and Rose and I liked Harriet Jones, but not much more. I usually avoid rewatching those episodes, especially since I feel like they get worse everytime I see them, but you had to watch them, so I watched them too. This episode on the other hand, I actually really liked, I loved the discussions between The Doctor and the Dalek, I think there was some great acting and emotion from Christopher Eccleston in this episode. I also thought there were some great moments with Rose and the Doctor as well as Rose and the Dalek. I wasn't really a huge fan of all the other characters in this episode, as I found them to either be making the stupidest decisions or being so terrible they didn't care about the decisions they were making, although I would argue that the woman in the stairwell wasn't being stupid, but was making a sacrifice so Rose and the other guy could get away, I don't think she thought she was going to make it out of there and beat the Dalek, I think she knew what she was doing. I haven't seen Classic Who, so this was my first time really seeing a Dalek, although I knew they existed, as well as one other classic enemy, but I didn't know much else. So it was interesting to see why they were a threat, since I always thought they were so silly.
