After working on the comic strip “Thanks for the watch” I grew fond over the minimalistic chibi style in which I drew the main character, and I wanted to try again somehow.

Because of that, I decided to create an alternate design of my avatar Linker.

I wanted to push his design and reduce it to the most basic of his elements, as long as he could still be recognizable. And I think I got an adorable result.

I want to use this design in a couple of  short comics, because I always wanted to try the classic newspaper B/W strips, and this clean and simple design it’s really fitting for it.

Feel free to give your opinion in regard of which version you like best :)

Mmm Nice! I'm transmitting that retro Vibe that I wanted, although I didn't expect to go "Popeye" on it XD My usual shading and proportions tend to be really anime so when I remove them other stuff comes out. In fact the 3rd Style was a direct reference to those early Disney short B/W animated films, in the way they drew the eyes.

Looks intresting. Having a hard time telling wich one I like the best.

You know part of the idea behind simplifying the character was to reduce the production time (at least that's what I'm expecting XD) I'm aware that comics with Linker are not popular on the site, but I think this cute style can make it look funnier even if he's dealing with serious or trivial topics. I Still have to prove that, It's just a theory :O When I happen to have an idea for it I'm gonna work on one, and since I'm not planning on making them as a main thing in my gallery, it could help that they're easy to make :) Plus, I could make them as an omage to the era of comics in which I grew up, the newspaper comics.
