I'm still in the middle of playing this but now that it is fully released I think Im going to do a new playthough on my Twitch channel! The graphic above gives you a general information but I go into way more detail below! Please read though everything before starting the challenge! Comment below if you run into any problems but most importantly, ENJOY THIS ADORABLE CHALLENGE!!!

The Bloomful Challenge

Welcome to the Bloomful Challenge where your main goal is to have a thriving farm in Henford on Bagley! HoB has a true sense of community! Now that you’re here, it's time to jump right in and make a name for yourself. Farm life is not easy but it is the most rewarding. In this challenge, you will experience true farm to table meals, grow quality produce for you and the town, add to the charming atmosphere of Henford on Bagley, and most importantly, make a true self-sustaining living! From giant crops to cute cuddly animals, this challenge will guide you through a true experience of The Sims 4 Cottage Living.

You start on a rundown, abandoned farm with limited access to the land and even rooms in your house. For some time, the farm has been neglected. It is your mission to bring to life. Gardening and Fishing will be a great start for you in the beginning! Remember the more crops you have, the more money you can make! Don’t think your garden is your main focus! Trust me, there is so much more to do. You need to repair and renovate the farm house, clean up the grounds, raise farm animals, prepare yummy foods, build a greenhouse, buy deeds for more land, befriend the locals, help with errands, sell your produce, and so much more! Are you up for even more of a challenge? Check out some of the hardmode options

Selling your produce and more

You’re only allowed to sell produce to the local stalls in Henford on Bagley until you make a name for yourself that is! After the Farming welcome, you will now be able to sell in the Marketplace as well! Of course, there are some tasks you need to complete before such a thing!

  • Complete the Farming Welcome event and the tasks
  • Must have some friendship with the Mayor! She needs to give you the proper sanctions to sell
  • Must purchase selling table or stall
  • Must complete 5 errands for the Grocery Stall villager
    • We’re taking over her territory! The least we can do is help her out before we wipe her out of business!

You cannot sell produce on your home lot. You must sell to the local stalls or sell on your own stall in the marketplace area. For hardmode, you can try holding all of your produce and goods until Saturday and sell for an additional profit at the fairs. Every fair in HoB has a 10% increase in sales! Don’t forget to haggle which could result in 25% more profit!

Adding to the Town-  Hardmode- Double the value

HoB has a certain charm to it! The community in town is very warm and welcoming! But the town itself has an elegant beauty to it! And now that you are here and becoming a part of the community, you should add something so you’re always remembered as a true townie of HoB

  • Max friendship with the Mayor
  • A sense of community is big here! Befriend at least 4 villagers of HoB
  • Pay $2000 for building permits to the mayor( you can gift simoleons to add gameplay or just subtract the money)

Here is where you shine! What is HoB missing?? You can build anything! A nursery, a community garden, a farmers market, a park, an evil chicken village! The possibilities are endless! This is a great opportunity to use the TOOL mod! This addition does not have to be on an actual lot. It could be placed in an open area or behind your farm or next door to the mayor! If the TOOL mod is not an option for you, feel free to build on any lot! For me, I have 2 children in my household so I’ll be making a playground in the main area of Finchwick!

Foodie Friends - Great for Early Game

There are a number of new recipes to discover in HoB! With your fresh produce, it could have a crazy foodie experience! why not whip up a few things and sell it for extra profit at the local pub!

  • Befriend the Pub Owner! You two are sort of becoming business partners! Your food will be bringing in customers and they will definitely stop for a drink!
  • Complete 3 errands for the Pub Owner villager
  • Must be cooking level 5 and gourmet cooking 3
  • All food must be prepared on your home lot with the simple living lot trait
  • All food must be sold on a selling table!
  • You can only sell food from Sun - Fri 5pm to 12 Midnight
  • No selling food on Saturday as those are Festival days! The only except is if there is an event that night at the pub (i.e ladies night, guys night singles night etc)

This isn’t limited to the new foods in cottage living! It could be anything! Even bake goods! Remember the higher skill required to prepare the food, the more it will sell for!

Stitching gets stitches - Cross Stitching

It's no secret that many in HoB enjoy Cross Stitching!

Let’s try it out and plus we can sell our work to make more money for farm and house upgrades! I also heard they make great gifts as well!

  • Obtain 5 cross stitch patterns from errands or wild animals
  • Gift 5 different cross stitched items to townies
  • Collect 3 of every wool

Grocery Store- Late Game / End Game Hardmode- Double the value

Let’s be honest, your produce and goods are the best in town! Fresher than what you can buy from that stall in finchwick. This may start a food war but I think it will be worth it! It’s time to upgrade! We’ve been working for a while now and it’s time to step it up with our own grocery store! Now this is huge so we have to prepare accordingly

  • Max friendship with the mayor! By now that should be no problem! You need the proper sanctions and of course, the deed!
  • $40,000 for a shop license
  • You must purchase a lot in the Finchwick neighborhood and it can’t be the pub!
  • Simple living lot challenge must be on the grocery store lot
  • Everything that is sold in the grocery should be at least excellent quality!
  • Everything sold in the grocery store should come from your farm
  • The grocery store must be completely built before opening including bathrooms, break room for you and your employees, and your office
  • And yes you can restock items but it will be more worthwhile if you replace sold items with new fresh ingredients from your farm! For hard mode, no restocking

This is a huge investment but it will pay off big time! your grocery store can be a local ma and pa store or s mega chain grocery line! Imagine a huge, modern, whole foods in the middle of town HoB, that would be hilarious! To give you some ideas, you store can have:

Produce area with fruits and veggies, Herb section, butcher or meat section, bakery full of cookies cakes and pies, a dairy section full of tasty milks, eggs of all variety, ice cream if you have cool kitchen, mixed drinks, honey from bees if you have seasons, faux meat from Eco Living! The options are endless! Think of your own grocery story!

Events

  • Farming Welcome -  you can plan this event once you’ve completed all landscaping and exterior house goals (House party or custom event) Townies and villagers of HoB come to the farm to help and welcome you! In return, you get to meet the townies, collect errands, and most importantly, gift crafted items to the townies. (Henford Favors) 5 townies must receive something you’ve crafted. Canning (including custom canning), Fabrications, cross stitching, food, flowers, woodworking, honey, milks, eggs, or animal treats. If 5 people in attendance don’t receive gifts during the event, you must give 10 townies something crafted while in town.
  • Private Dinner Party - you can plan this event once you’ve completed all landscaping and exterior house goals- Invite the Mayor and her son to dinner. You need max friendship with the mayor for a couple of things! You want to add a small structure at the city square! For me, I have children, so I want to create a little playground! You can build anything! Garden section, picnic area, anything!  I suggest using the TOOL mod so you can actually move things without it having to use an entire lot!
    • During the dinner party, smooze the mayor! The goal is to get to max friendship to get the deeds to build the structure! See the Adding to the Town goals to learn more

Still thinking of more events! I wanted to release this so as I think of more or if you can think of anything, I can add more! If you do the Bloomful Challenge, lemme know! Tag me on twitter, send me links to your videos! Just have fun! Of course, if you run into any problems, please let me know!

There's a problem with the hardcore version of the starting setup! If you place the lot unfurnished, you lose everything, including the overgrown grass that you'd have to pay to get rid of. :(

I am so excited to do this. Thanks for sharing. Making my sim tonight.

Okay I may have to make a separate house build specifically for hardmode! In the meantime, you can remove the furniture in the house for that game mode

I just realized there was a hard mode. :) That sounds great! I like the furnished lot though :) I will just need to come up with another version of the hard mode for myself :)

Excited to start this! I have a question about the payments against each goal you have to complete, taking the first one as an example - "Remove grass and overgrown foliage - $350". Does that mean I have to earn $350 from selling fish or crops etc, then I subtract it from my money using the 'money x' cheat i.e. for this goal, 'money -$350', and once i've done that, I can start clearing the overgrown foliage and grass? I need some help understanding, sorry if i've missed something! Thanks :)

deesims

Yes you subtract the money. It cost $350 to clear the grass and foliage
