Dear Garmy family,

This is the hardest news I've ever had to share with you.

Our dear friend, Steve Ashton, has died.

Tragically, he was found by his daughter Lilly when she went to check on him today. I have no further details right now, nor does any of that matter. All that matters is that we have lost a loved one.

Steve was a huge part of The Ralph Report, and of my life.

When I began this project, Steve was a stranger to me. But, he reached out and was the first person to volunteer to help in any way he could. I will never forget that kindness.

His wit and energy quickly became a staple of the show, and just as quickly we became the closest of friends. Brothers, an ocean apart.

Over the years, we shared so many laughs, tears and conversations. But, mostly laughs.

Steve loved being on The Ralph Report, and he loved you, The Garmy. He would tell me that some of his all-time favorite moments were the ones when we were all on stage together entertaining you.

So, please take a moment today, and remember a time when Steve made you laugh. He would like that.

Personally, I am shattered. There will be no new episode tomorrow, but I will post a show from 2019 that Steve and I recorded in my hotel room during a visit to England.

A true friend, devoted father to Daisy and Lily, and one of the cleverest minds I've ever known, Steve was one of a kind.

I will miss him more than I can possibly say.

-Ralph

If it hasnt already been suggested, we should ABSOLUTELY make August 10 the first official Garmy Holiday - Steve Ashton Day. He should get our thanks and praise and we can listen to one of his old segments, or Ask-A-Brit... etc, as we remember how great of a man he was.
