Sans gruyère? In this instance I think it was a good call as Eddie may have hated the texture of it melted. 🙂 Poor Eddie would not survive in France, they live to eat rather than eating to live. Our big family meals last HOURS: you start lunch with apéro at 11:30am and it goes so long it runs into evening apéro at 6:30/7pm, then onto the evening meal around 8pm. Christmas dinner starts with mountains of oysters, locally sourced.
