I feel like a dummy for not emailing sooner. I work in the research institute at Bloodworks Northwest, a large non-profit blood bank in the Pacific Northwest.

Kerry, ACE2 has been popping up alot lately on how this is spreading around the body so rapidly. Also New York has almost hit 24÷ exposure. Most towns are sitting at less than 15. Most people have not been exposed to it yet. So stay at home.

I’m happy to answer any questions you have. As for the program generally, the principal is that people who successfully fought the infection have antibodies that can neutralize the virus. Bloodworks is collecting plasma from donors with neutralizing antibodies and transfusing it into people with active COVID-19. The results so far are promising, and we hope that plasma therapies like this will help bridge the gap until a proper vaccine is ready.
