Two years ago, after working for 18 years working on the KEVIN AND BEAN SHOW on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles, I was "let go".

It was an awkward, painful end to a great gig, and, sadly, it left my relationships with my old co-workers a little strained.

But, Thursday was Bean's last day on the air after 30 years, and I decided it just wouldn't be right if I didn't call in and give him some much-deserved praise.

I was afraid it might be weird, but, it wasn't. It felt great.

Great to reconnect with my old friends over there.

Great to get a chance to thank Bean for what he had done for me.

And, great to release whatever resentment may still be lingering after two years.

If you're interested, here's the call in it's entirety.

I am so glad you called in. I could hear the emotion in your voice and I felt so overjoyed that you were able to say what was on your mind. Bean is an incredible radio talent and you were such an asset for many years. I thank you all for such laughs and joy in a soul crushing commute every day. Ralph, I am so grateful to still be able to hear the talent and benefit from everything you learned on the Kevin and Bean show. Thank you sharing.

Ralph, YOU really were the reason that I listened to Kevin & Bean for 18 years! YOU were responsible for everything that was actually funny, witty and brilliant! I am very happy that you were on the final episode with Bean but I am disappointed at the lack of credit given to you for the brilliance of the comedy. Without you, the Kevin & Bean show is nothing more than a Listener Call-In show! Yes, Kevin & Bean do say some funny things but NO ONE there CREATES bits that are smart and so hilarious and you are one of the best impersonators of our time! The best since Rich Little! I am a fan for life!
