Some of you have reached out to me to let me know you are no longer able to download THE RALPH REPORT as an mp3 file. Thanks for letting me know!

It turns out that Patreon has removed this feature.

Why, you ask? Well, as usual, it turns out a few bad folks ruined it for everyone else.

Repeatedly and regularly, mp3 files of Patreon creators' audio content were being downloaded and shared to multiple other parties. This "bootlegging" or "pirating" was creating a real financial problem for Patreon creators.

And, so, the change they recently made to the way audio files appear in posts is to make exclusive content more secure.

They removed the “download as mp3” option under audio posts, so that patrons will no longer be able to download audio files onto a desktop computer.

Garmy members will still be able to download audio content for secure offline listening on the Patreon mobile app, and listen through the player on both desktop and mobile, or through their own private RSS link in the podcast app of their choice.

Having the links available for download on desktop was convenient for patrons, but also opened up more risk of content being shared publicly, without a way to trace the unique RSS link that it originated from.

To help you find other ways to enjoy THE RALPH REPORT, here's a link to a help center article that details the podcast apps that are compatible with Patreon’s RSS.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this caused those of you who preferred to listen this way. I can only hope you can understand why Patreon made this move to protect its' creators.

According to the Patreon Support Twitter feed "We've taken your feedback into consideration and have decided to roll back this change, making the download links available again, and reconsider how we can better meet the needs of creators and patrons for listening to and downloading audio. We appreciate your feedback!"

iPhone users: I recommend the app Overcast. You can add your RSS link and it will download the new episode to the device. You have the option to adjust this to only download on wifi if you don't want to use up the data on your cell plan.
