FWIW, what RT is doing is getting rid of the “Interest Gauge” function. It wasn’t “review the movie before you see it. Essentially it was the equivalent of HBO’s “Movies That Will Suck” or “No Thanks, We Already Got One” segments, as well as Kev’s “Give it a chance, Ralph” retort, were you noted how interested you are in an announced project. While cleaning up obvious trolling, and obvious organized campaigns is admirable, it does hurt projects on RT that are in the festival circuits, or making the rounds for distributors. They usually need those reviews from the “interest gauge” before being released into theaters or home video formats. So in a sense this is more RT capitulating to a big corporation, instead of cleaning up in house to make sure things are all on the up and up.
