Purely hypothetical illustrations of face-walking mitten descendants I drew back in 2017. The first depicts the generalized ancestor of the ones in the second illustration, which show a heavily-built grazer hunted by a pair of spider-like predatory forms. In the former, the feet have become purely display organs, while in the latter the legs have degenerated but the toes are elongated into spindly grasping organs.

Sheather did not like this idea.... but I still think it's good.... I intended on making a sea mitten species that walked on its face tentacles for the 270 MYH time period, but it ended up getting sent to the cutting board due to time constraints; the jetguppies took priority to a sea mittens part two entry.

OMG! The Socks Are Real! This is something I’ve always wanted to see in Serina and I’m so glad that it was already conceptualized in some form. I no it’s non canon but damn it they’re canon in my heart!

I will say when I imagined them I thought they’d be descendants of gloves due to their pre-adaptations like jointed facial limbs and already using their limbs for some terrestrial locomotion, digging. Still these look great!

I know this is an older post but this has been bugging me for a bit. I thought the first image looked familiar and it turns out I was right! I remember it being posted on the old spec evo forums but for the life of me I can’t remember if the second image was as well. Ever since zetaboard was converted to Tapatalk navigation is a nightmare so I was curious if you also posted the second image back then or if it was just referenced?

I don't remember now, sorry. I have no clue if I ever posted these anywhere anymore.
