Now I wonder if this anti-Tesla militant activity will eventually spread into other regions and continents beyond Western Europe (South America for instance, in regards about lithium or countries where factories are producing the vehicles). Very interesting topic covered in this episode PF.

You mentioned the lithium used in batteries, but recently companies have been researching a much cleaner material: sodium. It’s not as energy dense(about a 10% loss) but it’s much cheaper and less volatile, it’s even renewable because there’s so much more sodium than lithium in the world

Yeah, I also feel like comparing the environmental impact of lithium mining to gasoline cars is very,. apples vs oranges. My understanding is that it's not much worse than oil drilling and at least this way there's no emissions from burning it in your car. Obviously yeah not having cars is the best option, but that almost definitely won't happen. And I feel like we have to at least try alternatives rather than dismissing evs altogether. Fingers crossed for sodium though.
