I think this guy is wrong about knives, yeah you're not gonna be good if you just have a folding knife in your pocket. Much like guns it's something you have to train solo and sparing with people to get proficient at.

Great interview Jake! I come from a very similar background as the LRA founder. We differ in ideology but firearms are heavily criminalized amongst the Latino community in the southern California area. I think LRA is doing a good thing in normalizing self-defense and promoting gun rights amongst the Latino community, especially with the crime rates going up in the SoCal Counties.

Okay so if you pull i knife on me i'm just gonna bail. If we're fighting and in a scramble and i can tie up your hands i'm gonna stab you, that's where the training part kicks in. And there are knife defense classes too which will help (provided you train enough) so that you're not going to get carved up more than a Thanksgiving turkey
