Project Build Day 3 - Pouring an Insulated Foam Form Wall with Grandpa Yayo

Project Build Day 3: Construction of a Solar Powered Hydronic Greenhouse that is insulated with Thermal Mass and will be Earth Sheltered when completed. We applied for two grants this year. The LOR Foundation Innovative Concepts in Conservation Grant and The Fruitguys Fund for Small Farmers Grant to convert to Renewable Energy. We are so grateful to have been accepted to receive both grants and will be completing construction of the new greenhouse/pump house this year with the intention to conduct soil and water conservation research and to create a reliable source of fresh produce through the Colorado winter in our food desert community. We will be replacing our fuel generator that runs our well pump with a solar pump system that will be used for drip irrigation and a hydronic heating system in the greenhouse. We are installing this 3’ insulated stem wall to protect our plants during the below zero winter days.
